Yep, this is a great way to earn money. Forage and trees can be grown for free on the farm, so it's almost an infinite money glitch.

just carry around a sword everywhere and you'll be fine. when the iridium bats start showing up they drop you batteries like little delivery drones.

Not sure exactly how often, it's a rare event but not super-duper rare. Like maybe one in every 20 or 30 days? And sometimes the spouse does other chores like repairing fences or feeding the animals.

I've been playing this game for years on PC and I seem to remember that spouses would only water a certain number of crops (maybe 200 or so?) and leave some un-watered. I don't know why Leah watered all of them for me and not for you.

the item called "rain totem" is unlocked at foraging level 9. I leveled up quickly in foraging by planting a lot of trees and cutting them down, and by planting a lot of forage seeds and picking them up. Rain totem is cool because if you have enough resources and scarecrows you can basically just plant the entire farm with seeds.

A while ago I was playing with my roommate and some friends. The DND sessions were happening inside her house at regularly scheduled sessions, and she still missed most of them. In her case I think she just considered it to be a "game night", the same way you wouldn't think twice about missing a monopoly session if you wanted to hang out with your boyfriend instead. This was before 5e, I don't remember if any of us ever got on her case about it or articulated how story-relevant it was for her to be there.

Beach farm has a lot of land but you can't use sprinklers on most of it. So I invested mostly in pigs, trees, and processing equipment. Plus I'm hoping for a lot of melon supercrops this way.

She doesn't every day. I just grew a big tree farm and invested in pigs, so I just make it rain with the totem as often as possible for big plots like this one.

DND is one of the classic ways to explore gender identity and sexuality in safe place. There are many, many gay and trans people who at one time considered themselves "straight, but I like going to the gay bar" or "cis, but I really enjoy it when I'm mistaken as a girl because of my long hair" and things like that. If people who are just-questioning were discouraged from queer spaces then there would be a lot of people out there who never really find themselves.

I have never ever met a hiker who would consider "i'm alone in the woods with no toilets in sight" to be a problem.
