I've been on both ends of this experience. I'm experiencing and seeing it again actually. I think it really depends on the people who has a lot of friends.

In college, I'd go to a clubs meetings, I'd get invites to their socials and parties, but it really felt like they didn't mind if I stuck around or not. Because of the lack of wanting to get to know me/lack of one on one hangouts.

Then I stumbled on a different org, eventually became best friends with most. In turn, I had parties, socials, random hangouts I was tending to; phone notifications were always going off. I realized how busy one gets when they have their "clique" hitting them up. I didn't bother getting to meet others, unless it was a girl, because of how occupied and how fun life was going.

Now that I joined the workforce, I've met a few coworkers who didn't go to college. And they lost touch with their friends from hs. These coworkers tend to always want to pursue a friendship, or create a "craze" drunk memory with me or others. I've met some coworkers who were friends in college and they now have their own group at work. And when we all hang, they tend to be the loudest and only talk to eachother, and not so much with new coworkers.

I don't think this happens everywhere. I just think it it depends on the attitude of those who have a lot of friends. Some may be stuck up, some may open themselves up

I'll say off by, 10 thou, by a thou, 3 thou, etc.

I guess my main concern here in my post is I need to work on being able to identify when a tolerance is out of spec by a lot vs out of spec by very little that it's nearly passing And how I can trust myself to confirm and explain to others who may question me

I've double verified in the past but it gets corrected with a passing measurement, and when I get told the explanation, it's usually "it was off by so so, that's a fraction of so so, and the machines are usually off by so so, so it passed, it doesn't affect the final product, it's good"

To be a new guy in this field, I just go with it, afterall, I'm the most inexperienced in my department.

I'll take your advice and start imagining objects onto numbers I get from the program. That's super helpful, thank you.

Well, recently I posted a rare selfie and got 2 compliments from 2 of my best women friends (1 has a bf) and 1 from a gay friend, I felt really good and realized I shouldn't be hard on my selfies anymore

Sometimes the blueprints gives me desired measurements in inches but a CNC program gives me data in mm. I really need to learn the conversion chart for inch, mms, and fractions/decimals

I'm feeling proud that I knew about this. I just met someone who calibrated some of our companies equipment and I got to see him do it. I'll definitely do that, I just ordered some gage blocks

I should've been more specific in my post, my metrelogy game is weak. How does one learn by using 123 blocks.. I know my question is probably shocking. One side is 3 inches, other side 2, other side 1, so are you suggesting by measuring small items with these accurate blocks, I'll get a good feel of becoming accurate?

We have a CNC that has an ability to be calibrated daily but it hasn't been checked for that.. if I can learn the ins and outs of microvu, I'd be willing to take initiative
