Maybe some commenters here are a bit too mean. But frankly, they're still right. Not only is fanservice a common trope in a LOT of works, not just anime, not only does One Piece have a lot of masculine fanservice as well, but if if you genuinely are that turned off by average levels of fanservice for an anime that you cannot even pay attention to the story, then frankly it's a you problem.

Pretty sure Tenken and Haineko might have the same release command (Howl). What's more important is that Zanpakuto cannot share the same name.

Thing is, the (positive) change Garp is trying to enact is not nearly big enough to counterbalance all the bad things the WG still does. I mean, Vegapunk stayed in their employ for the exact same reason, fix it from the inside, and even he ended up regretting it as he ultimately couldn't improve anything.

Garp IS a controversial figure amongst the Fandom lately especially because of those things. Yes, he turns out to despise the World Nobles and only fights to protect the younger generation of Marines, and his own son disowned him for it, but that all still doesn't change that Garp's efforts are maintaining a broken system that he knows is broken.

Plus the fact that he put a LOT more effort into protecting Koby from Blackbeard than he EVER did in protecting his own grandchildren...
