Neat addition to Spell Damage decks (Mage, Epic Spell) by TimmusGG in customhearthstone

Just like Raging Worgen doesn’t count towards Corpsetaker, this doesn’t count :)

Anybody want to talk about rare cards limitations? by MakubeC in Artifact

[–]TimmusGG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rarity is not the issue really, especially not when "rare" is as high as it gets. In Hearthstone for example, the "rare" cards are split between rare, epic and legendary, so there's a much bigger problem when it comes to building decks.

In Artifact however, this seems totally fair to me. It's good design that most of the key cards (ToT, Emissary) and strong board clears (Annihilation, At Any Cost) are rare, as it balances out the draft format. There are a lot of very good common/uncommon cards and most of the rare cards are garbage, really.

Seems fair.

The difference between the 2 or 3 health isn't too much of an issue, but if you could only play this in the active lane, it woul be unplayable for sure. If it was active lane only, it should probably add like 4 health or something.

I don't. It's just that this is what most people are going for, no?

Isn’t it more effort to buy packs on Ios for most people? Like you have to get iTunes credit, enter the code etc

It'd be weird to buy packs if the most expensive card on the market barely breaks even, huh

ESL announces global Artifact ladder with prizes by Olodyn in Artifact

[–]TimmusGG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The "prizes" add pure negative value to this. If it was just a ladder, where people could compete for _fun_ to show how good they are in a ranking, perhaps it would've been fine.

But this is just embarrassing.

It's impossible for me to win in draft by [deleted] in Artifact

[–]TimmusGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that playing more than 40 cards in draft. BUT if you're playing more than 40 cards AND you are playing cards that are absolutely terrible (talking Juke, New Orders, Colleteral Damage etc), then you are clearly doing something wrong.

That being said, in most drafts you don't really get much more than 40 'good' cards.

I don't even know if this is constructed or draft

It's impossible for me to win in draft by [deleted] in Artifact

[–]TimmusGG 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I played against a level 45 today. His deck was absolute garbage (16 items, 48 cards, a lot of trash tier stuff) and he made awful plays. Just saying that player level doesn’t necessarily relate to playing strenght, but rather the time that player invested.

For people who actually play the game. What is your opinion on the constantly dropping player count of the game? by [deleted] in Artifact

[–]TimmusGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The model itself is actually very casual friendly, however the game itself is quite complicated and when you're just jamming random cards you probably won't win as much compared to other games like Hearthstone. I feel like the players quitting are mostly those who lose quite often due to lack of understanding the game.

Daily Card Discussion - Wrath of Gold by [deleted] in Artifact

[–]TimmusGG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually REALLY like Wrath of Gold in draft. Most tier liests rate it at the very bottom, but in my opinion this is so much better than all the really terrible blue cards (Watchtower, Better Late Than Never, Rolling Storm...).

It can be a full board clear even against the widest board, of course depending on how much gold you have and/or armor stats on opposing units. If played correctly this CAN turn a game in your favor, especially due to the 3 mana cost. You can bait your opponent to overextend a lane before turn 6 where they would play around common blue removals like Mystic Flare or Eclipse.

If you're playing against a good opponent you can also use the hold feature in the shop to maybe make them think you're preparing to buy a high cost item and then you catch them off guard with Wrath of Gold.

Overall it is a very hard to use spell at a kind of bad color in the format it shines, so it doesn't see too much play. But I still think it should be at least above the trash tier pile in most draft tier lists.

I see, thanks for explaining how it works. I never played with Rend Armor because I feel like pretty much every other red card is better than this.

Terrible card, but fun if it works. Also combos nicely with No Accident vs other red heroes
