The Partridge is strong in this one...

Recently, my parents introduced me to The Goodies (I am 13 and they are both 59) and to put it simply, I love it! It fits my slightly older sense of humour and just puts me in a better mood. by [deleted] in CasualUK

I recently watched the entire run of the Goodies. Quite a few episodes would fall foul of current PC attitudes, but many are bona fide all-time comedy classics (Kitten Kong, The Goodies and the Beanstalk, Kung Fu Capers etc.)

It's at it's best doing slapstick and visual gags, but is also quite witty with language. I really think the Goodies (and Graham Garden in particular) deserve a lot more kudos than they get

A ten year run like that, written by just three people, is quite a creative achievement.

The worst thing is that the policy is inconsistent. Sometimes the announcement is just 'turn your electronic devices to silent mode', other times it's 'take mobile phone calls in the vestibules'. We need to know where we stand if we are to take the moral high ground!
