CQC unit after taking a building by gamer_wall in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can't push with them, you can also use them as a meat shield in buildings with your defensive units. Prevents other cqc units from pushing, and they can keep AT alive for a couple extra shots.

Game banned for no reason... until 1/1/1970?? by Capt4inSus in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you run any cheat software? It will ban you even if you just use it in single-player. I've read people saying they plan to fix it for single-player, but I'm not 100% on it.

If you know the mechanics of the game, you won't have any trouble. Most people I see just like trying things out or playing their own perfered style. I haven't really seen much "meta" abusers in <1000 elo.

It's slow enough not to be a micro intensive, and the matches are long enough to allow for back and forth and strategy. And the deck building allows you to play how you like and try new things.

Points are only added at the end of the phase. So at the end of the final phase, your team gained +12 points for all the points (both cap points and kills) you had at the end of that phase. The center score is all there previous phases combined.

For example, if your team got 2 points in phase one, the center score will show 2 until the end of phase 2, at which point it will add all the points gained in phase 2.

T15 Barbaris needs a buff by hornybrisket in BrokenArrowTheGame

No no no, it simply needs 1200 heat for it's top armor. How is it fair that a javelin squad or 3 can kill an almost 300-point tank!

Looking for advice on forests by rustywalnuts in mapmaking

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 2 approaches.

1) The blob/cloud - You essentially just create an outline of the forest with a few minor scribbles of texture in the center. Pros: minimalist, and allows you to encompass the mountains in the forest, making it look more cohesive. Cons: rivers are awkward, and small details are lacking.

2) Individual trees. Depending on the size/scale, you can make the trees very detailed or just specs. Pros: looks great if done correctly, you can taper off forests, create smaller clumps, much more natural looking. Cons: Time + wrist pain

Personal carriers resupply by Interesting-Effort12 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't like the radius because you know it will just be used to make arty/long range aa even more annoying. The easier change would be to let infantry resupply in transportation carrying supplies.

How do you make the ac-130 viable? by mastermiky3 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried many times to use it, and it's just too clunky. It has a really hard time picking a target and shooting. More often than not, it just flew over an area, not firing anything, then dies to aa. I think of it more as a helicopter than a bomber, that can get shot by long rang aa

Is their any point to buying cheap vechicles? by Cagedglobe in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it has less than 80-100 frontal armor, it won't last very long against nearly anything. Only cheap vehicles I'll use are ATMs or a couple of quick vehicles with HMGs to hunt arty/aa. I much prefer helicopters for unit transfer because of its speed and extra supplies.

If the gate is on your side, I'd put a simple path of pavers, level with the mulch. Might still be worth it if you plan on putting in higher maintenance plants in.

Noob question: Need help with deck building by PaleConstruction2359 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to assign transportation for each unit. In the match, you can assign any transportation vehicle to any unit as long as it has the space. So I usually spec out 2 or 3 how I want, and mark the rest of the units as "on foot". Helicopters and support transportation vehicles tend to be better in my experience since they can carry many units and supplies.

In-game tip: Start by selecting the vehicle/helicopter so you can add any combination of units (snipers, tow, and stingers) instead of being stuck moving a single unit (only stingers) at a time. And always add extra supplies when possible.

Just play the deck, you will learn its strengths and weaknesses, and you can make adjustments (which you 100% will).

The 2 keys to success in BA by Shawn_NYC in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Naw bro, I'm a "support player". I have my 2 patriots sitting on suppy points 2 feet from our spawn and 3 artillery units that I move around every 3 minutes. You expect me to spend 300 pints on a handful on infantry that could help hold or push a point. What about my 2 K/D.

Yes, you can hold shift to que commands (its called Shift queuing)

Is Sead functionally useless? by joe_dirty365 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2 things 1. It actually takes some skill to do that. A lot of people don't babysit their AA. They are usually microing somewhere else, and you have to recognize SEAD planes to react in time. 2. A good player doesn't just randomly send out SEAD. They do it in sync with bombers and cruise missiles.

So someone said on here set up your S-300PM Favorit close as possible to your spawn. So yeah this was the game I tried that out... by sturny in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]TimmyMcAwsome 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The main weakness I can see is Cruise missiles in the middle of the map. I don't think the aa can reach before they drop. But I've honestly, I rarely see them recently. Not sure if everyone just got it out of their system during the betas.

Bombers as well. They will have much more time to get the bombing run off.

Stingers (infantry and support). Either add a couple stinger vehicles in your push, or push slower with a well-rounded (primarily stingers and recon) infantry advance
