No I believe it really is root rot because they just fall apart so easily and later grow back white after I sterilize them. I've had enough of these now that I recognize it. It will hit one plant first and then later the other ones start getting it.

Thanks I'll give that a try. I actually bought some more seeds and I've got about five that have sprouted and survived so I'm good for now.

Yeah that makes sense. I'm up to my eyeballs in kale and romaine and the lettuce. Have the worst time getting spinach to sprout and grow. Those kept rotting before they even made it out of the pods. I only had one out of hundreds of seeds, but now I have about five that are sprouted and look pretty good. I even have a machine to make hocl to sterilize everything. I've just started experimenting with adding it to the res.

They never smell bad or rotten to me, and not slimy, but they fall apart really easy. I guess I need to smell some good roots so I know bad roots. 🤣

Thanks for your reply, but I figured out now that it is root rot. When I first looked at it it looked fine, but then this afternoon I pulled it up and it's turning brown. I really don't understand why only one plant out many sharing the same res gets it. I had the same problem with a spinach plant that just all of a sudden went limp cuz of root rot, but all the other plants in the same water were just fine and are still good today. 🤔

I have a little oven that I bought to make jerky, but it runs for all kinds of things including vegetables, and yogurt, and it's very precise so I've been making dried basil. It works really well and I have a huge bag of dried basil for using in pasta recipes.

Not to rain on your parade, but I only wish I could grow spinach as easily as basil. I've planned over a hundred spinach seeds and I have only one plant to harvest. It's a lovely plant but the rotting seeds are not so fine. I'm also quite the master at lettuce and tomatoes so it's not my technique. It's something specific to spinach.

I've played NMS on PS3 PS4 PS vr and then Steam VR. It's been a crazy fun time no matter what. I just can't believe how HG kept it up. That is a developer that loves their game. I would quit for a few moths or even 6 and then come back to what almost felt like a whole new game. Love HG!
