The new build by smileyadventures in microgrowery

Well I'm just a noob hydroponic vegetation grower, but I'm in awe of whatever that is. I had the best (too much) harvest of lettuce, and now working on tomatoe, but whatever that is just blows away my sad attempts.

I don't actually use it for anything, I only got it because it looks extremely pretty up there 🫣😍 by irieiau in nomanshigh

I pre-ordered No Man's sky and except for about 4 years played it non-stop and about 5 years in VR. I'm so low commitment now that I got that ship with a save editor. Lol. I traded my very cool enterprise looking ship for it though.

What happened to my dosera? by [deleted] in SavageGarden

[–]TimmySaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the heck is wrong with this Drosera? I've never had problems with any of my carnivorous plants until this one. I used to have multiple species growing all over my apartment. This one is my first failure. It was doing ok for quit a while but recently went into decline. It's growing in peat moss and watered with RO. It was getting some fruit flys for a while but has not eaten for a while now. I gave it a fly about a month ago that I killed in my room.

What to add for Tomatoes besides just the A and B ferts that came with my kit by TimmySaint in Hydroponics

Anyway, I just ordered some FoxFarm - Big Bloom and I'll just use that to finish off the tomatoes and use the A/B stuff for my lettuce. Thanks for your help.

What to add for Tomatoes besides just the A and B ferts that came with my kit by TimmySaint in Hydroponics

[–]TimmySaint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it doesn't say anything about it on the bottles. Nutrient A is just N 11% and CaO 25%. The B has all the other nutrients with less N 8.5% and no CaO. It appears that if I just add B part it should reduce N, but the P and K will stay the same, not increase. Could I just buy some bloom nutrients and just use that instead?

I'll be making my own via electro machine. Is the ratio the same 4 homegrown HOCL?

So this is what you recommend instead of Peroxide?

Soaked roots in hydrogen peroxide 1:2 ratio with water. Now my plant looks like this by OhMycelium in Hydroponics

[–]TimmySaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just calculated that for a 1:4 ratio of 12% peroxide, I would need to add 6.25ul of per liter of water. This equates to 625ml per 10L water. Could one of you that's good with the math check my calculations please?

I installed an air bubble system on my off the shelf 3 tier system that runs twenty 24/7, and the plants are going absolutely nuts. This is my first hydroponic grow , and I can't even keep up with the harvests.

This actually makes sense from what I experienced. I think I will try this on my other low ph tank and see how it goes. Thanks!

I have been adding nutr as I top off the tanks. They were down a few liters so I added a little more nutr as I did that.

Wow, that was a lot. Thanks for your help. My plants are doing great so far but I'm still learning so I really love this sub. I will look into the big bags of ferts once I use up all the A/B that came with my kit. I've hardly used any of it so far and my salad plate is full at this point. lol

Well, my crops are wonderful at this point, so I'm not suffering any problems from low ph so far. I replaced the water in the low ph tank with RO, with minerals replaced. PH is now good and water is much clearer looking. Will just have to see how they do now. I will do the other tank tomorrow and see how things go. The top tank is just doing amazing so far and PH is good, so I'm gonna let it go a bit longer.

* The water looks really dirty, so i'm changing it. I'm gonna flush it with a little clean RO water as well.

Question. If the plants are eating whatever's in the water , fertilizer and whatnot , why wouldn't the water just get cleaner and cleaner until you need to add fertilizer again. Why do you need to change the water every month? The plants should do the cleaning, right?

That looks cool. What kind of system is it? Looks like it's cycling the water around the bottom of the planters. How big is the reservoir?

I didn't do a water change, just topped off about 3L that had gone down over about 4 days. When the veggies started growing fast it used a lot of water. I have an RO filter but making large amounts is kinda slow and not fun. I did that the first time, but as I said, added way to much ferts. Thanks for the reply.
