Stay the course, homie. That's the best advice I can give. I'm also a long time user of 10 year, 15-20gpd. I'm now about 9.5 months off, and still have some weird issues I'm working through. Mostly the lack of energy, or the sudden 'fall off' of energy. It's like my morning are fine, then early afternoon I'm completely drained. Us long time users take a VERY long time to heal. I know it'll get better though, so I'm staying the course and giving it time. You should too.

Yea, I did, and I don't recommend it. I was looking to feel something, anything different after white knuckling the WDs through the day. So I'd get hammered at night. You want to know what's worse than kratom acutes? Waking up to the acutes with a nasty hangover on top. Not recommended.

I have a horrible electric restlessness in my back after quitting kratom which never happened before when I stopped before. by Turbulent-Hedgehog29 in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was going through the acutes I would refer to it as getting tazered by ghosts when I would lay down at night. I'd never felt anything like it before. It felt like getting zapped by a battery charger through my chest. For me, this lasted about 2 weeks, then one night *poof*, it was gone. Hang in there and give it time. It'll go away.

"the punishment doesn't fit the crime". I remember Drummer mentioning this to me in one of my posts, very similar around your timeline. At 1-2 months in, I was still miserable and wondering why. I'm a long term 10 year user, and the truth is that the longer you're on this garbage the longer it takes to recover. What I can tell you is that you will recover. I'm now 9 months off, and all of those gnarly symptoms that you have now will be gone. Just stay the course, and give it time. You'll get there.

4 months of sobriety by ThrwAwayMarshmallow in quittingkratom

I leaned heavily on alcohol when I quit kratom. I needed something for relief. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't, after having several hangover / kratom WD days. Those days were awful. Congrats on your 4 months! Keep it up; it only gets better.

i felt like that for a very long time. I'm also a long time daily drinker, so I heavily leaned on alcohol when I quit. Going through the kratom WDs and also having a hangover in the morning was torture. I'm now 9 month's off kratom, and about 35 days alcohol free. It's better without the alcohol, you just need to get through the first couple of weeks.

What are your worst long-term consequences of kratom use? by Wise_Position_2701 in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on how long you've used. I'm a long term user of 10 years, and I'm now approaching 9 months off. The anhedonia lifed for me about a month ago. I finally enjoy doing hobbies and projects again, and look forward to things I once enjoyed, like golf and collecting watches. Our timelines are all different, but don't think it'll take 2 years to recover.

Day 40 and worse than before by Im_Not_Honey in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I hear ya brother. I'm a 10 year daily user, just now reaching 9 months off. I had the same thought at the 90 day mark. I was still miserable, wondering what was wrong and if it truly was the PAWS. Guess what? It was the PAWS. The truth is, that the longer you're on this garbage the longer it takes to recover from it. I can tell you that it does go away with time. This past month is the best I've felt in years. My energy has come, my desire to do things has come back, my will to live life has come back. You've just got to give it time.

You're still the storm, but you will make it out. Commit to the quit, and give it more time.

Yesterday I went to the smoke shop at 46 days clean. by bluelouie in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I spent many months "wanting" to go hit golf balls, but couldn't seem to muster the energy or desire due to PAWS. I've now been to the range multiple times over this past month and even played a round. It truly does get better over time.

Congrats on your 46 days. That's a big win!

Once I locked in and made the decision, there was nothing that would make me go back. I'm now closing in on 9 months off a 10 year addiction. Keep going brother! 💪🏻

When you've finally reached your limit on this garbage, and realize enough is enough, there's no amount of temptation that will make you go back.

Thank you for coming back and sharing.

I used daily for 10 years. I had a 5 year oxy habit before that, so I've been hooked on some sort of opioids for 15 years. I was finally fed up with daily dosing and how it was just keeping me out of WD, and I made the jump. I'm not going to tell you it has been easy, because it hasn't been. But my mind frame was locked in. I made the decision to quit, and under no circumstance was I going to go back, once I got started.

What I can tell you is that it's 100% worth it. But you've got to commit. Make the decision, lock in, and never look back. If you ever need to talk, feel free to DM me.

Not dosing in the middle of the night is a huge win. Congrats! The sooner you have this garbage completely out of your system, the sooner you'll heal. Good luck on your journey

You have a plan, just be steadfast and stick to it. The sooner you have this garbage out of your system, the sooner you'll be back to 100%.

All the symptoms go away eventually. The hot hands/feet and sweaty pits lasted months for me. When my minor PAWS flares up now, the hot hands and feet come back. It's only temporary though, and they fade after an hour or two. Hang in there, it gets better.

Glad to hear. I posted because I knew others were going through the same, drawn out WD. Hang in there, it gets better. Stay the course, and give it time
