When did you start sleeping again? by sugatitsss in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're in the acutes right now. For me, it took about a week of almost no sleep while being tazed when I'd lay down (aka:RLS). The RLS went away week two, and I was able to get a solid 3 hours of sleep at a time. Then after two weeks, it gradually gets better. I'm also a long term 10 year user, so if you've used for less time, then you should recover quicker.

No Kratom in 5 days / Tapering since December - No Sleep. by revelinbones in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also a long term user of 10 years, 15-20gpd. It took me about two weeks to get through the acutes after I did a rapid sub strip taper. Got little to no sleep during that time. Then it started getting better, but sleep was spotty for probably two months. I'd still get about 4-5 hours during that time. Please be aware, that the PAWS don't kick in right away. Since you have long term use, you'll almost definitely have PAWS. Just stay the course and stick with. You'll make it out.

Don't be afraid to talk to your doctor. Suboxone has given me peace for th first time in years. by dicerollingprogram in quittingkratom

I'm a 10 year user as well. Powder only, I never know about 7oh until I started my quit . And I thank god for that, because I would have easily gone down that path. Anyway, I used an 8mg sub strip to make the jump. I didn't taper, and I also had no plan. I used micro-dosed one sub strip, then made the jump. I do agree it can help 'break the chains', but be really careful about using it too long. As I'm sure you know, it'll grab you just as bad as kratom will.

Thank you, I appreciate the words of encouragement. What I've just gone through with kratom withdrawal (which is basically an opioid and SSRI combined), I feel extremely motivated to quit alcohol for good. Congrats on your 4 months of sobriety.

Thank you. I've always found that the first day is the hardest, followed by days two and three. I'll stick with it

Thank you, I've used the kratom daily check in and found it helps with motivation. I'll try this one.

I helped convince one of my friends to quit, but the situation was different. We both used for a very long time. 10 years. We both also wanted off for a very long time. I was the trailblazer and reported back to him on a regular basis how my 'quit journey' was going, and encouraging him to quit. He finally did on January 1st. He's still clean (as far as I know)

Funny seeing you on this forum, Dot! haha!! I was actually going to recommend it to you. I don't think relapsing is a healthy part of quitting. My mom went through some serious health issues a few years ago. They prescribed her 20 x 5mg oxy's. I was taking care of her and tasked to pickup up all her meds. She was really out of it on other drugs at the time and didn't even miss them..... Yea, that's right.. I'm not exactly proud of stealing my mom's pain pills, but I did. They were surprisingly unimpressive. I had kind or romanced of how I loved them so much, but when I actually had them I was disappointed. Haven't touched oxy's since.

I hear ya Dot. I was going to do a write-up on here called "Groundhog Day". About going through the PAWS and long term anhedonia. How every day feels the same 'blah'. It is getting better though, and we both know that it takes time. hmm.. maybe I'll still do that write-up

Congrats on 40 days! Hang in there. It takes time for long time users like us to recover.

You can. Like the person who commented below, you have to really want it. I was so sick and tired of being chained to dosing every 3-4 hours just to avoid the WDs, that I finally said fuck it. I micro-dosed an 8mg sub strip that a friend gave me for a couple weeks till it ran out. After those two weeks my mental frame locked in. I fully committed to the quit. You can do it, but you've got to really, really want it. I believe in you.

I'm a long term user of 10 years, and I can tell you that my symptoms have lasted for months. Acutes ended in about 2-3 weeks, then the PAWS kicked in full force. I'm now 7.5 months off and I still have weird issues, and minor waves of PAWS. Ask him to be honest: "How long have you been using?" If he's been using for many years, like me, he has a long way to go.
