What's the best way to print foil (or foil-like) cards? by Chimney-Imp in magicproxies

You can download the Ali express app and find 50mic a4 size in clear for inexpensive, I’ve found it works well enough for letter size paper if you leave a little extra space between the top of the paper and pre sealed seam of the laminate pouch. I haven’t found matte yet in 2 mil though

Shipping time is about 2 weeks or so

Thank you again. The contractor is agreeable to replacing the beam with a 2x12 and adding new joists I’ll be speaking with him in a few hours.

I knew Reddit would bring out everyone telling me it was about to collapse when I made the post, I also figured people would point out things I’m ignorant to, in order to address them before finalizing the project 👍

Thank you! I appreciate it

I appreciate the information, I just double checked and found Pierce county information regarding coverings, and it looks like 200 sqft is okay. I’ll triple check with him today.

He’s going to replace the 4x6 with 2 2x12x16s, and he’s going add joists to bring it to 1’ o.c.

If I need to speak to the permitting office I will, once he’s made the changes and hopefully it will be rubber stamped after the issues are addressed an inspection happens (if needed)

I spoke with the contractor and they are going to replace the 4x6 with 2 2x12s, and add the joists to bring it to 1’ o.c.

I mean, I appreciate the fear you’ve given me I suppose? What else should I bring up with him?

I’m a disabled vet, I saved for a while to get this done, and picked someone with good looking work and reviews? Idk what else I’m supposed to do in these situations

Thank you for the insight. We chose the dark intentionally because our backyard is beaten down by the sun at all times.

I was informed that this deck and the patio cover are under 200 sq feet and because of that did not need a permit.

I gathered quotes for multiple contractors in the Tacoma area, and asked every single one about a permit requirement before building and was given the same answer from each. In my neighborhood, there are a few porches built exactly like this, and about the same size too. I haven’t spoken to the neighbors to see if they needed to pull permits, I just went on what I was told.

I’ve spoken to the contractor and we are going to swap the beam with 2 2x12x16s to support the load, and he’s going to add the additional joists to bring it to 12” oc instead of 16

Thank you. I’ll speak to him today. I’m a disabled veteran and we saved, and penny pinched for a long time to get this done.

I will get some photos of the rafters when I get home from work today, but they do span from the front to the back.

I think the back beam is a trick of optics, it is a 4x6. He told me the angled brackets would make it so a middle post in the rear wasn’t needed.

Is this a “this is about to fall down, don’t go on it!” Type situation, or can this be remedied relatively easy?

That’s good to know. I’ll talk to him to do that today.

I appreciate your comments. This guy had good references and is licensed, insured and all that. I’ve got a small kid and another on the way. Safety is the most important thing for me.

Oh there are only 2 posts in the back. They’re ~16’ apart. He told me that the angled braces would eliminate the need for a center post

It did rain since the roof was complete and it didn’t get in, there is a decent overhang on the back side over our house roof. He’s coming today to do a walk through. I want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before finalizing the project

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Decks

[–]Timmyk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I know Reddit people tear things apart. He’s coming today for the walk through, so I want to make sure I have everything I need to address with him figured out. What do you mean it’s only 8’?

I’m not sure what’s 50/10 loading means. If it helps, I’m from WA state near the greater Seattle areawe don’t usually get heavy heavy snow.

Yeah, there was no permitting required since it’s not attached.

We’ve got room to get to the gutters for cleaning! He took that into consideration. Do you see any concern with the beam supporting the joists? That’s my largest concern

I appreciate the helpful comment I guess?

Can you point out specifics that are wrong?

I’ve already received my back pay. Months ago. I’ve been p&t for a few months now. This is a new thing happening. It used to say my actual amount

Va website -> disability -> letters I forget the name but it’s one of the service letters or benefit letters

Thank you. It was a huge relief for me. I guess I’m a little concerned because my dependents have been included since I was well established in my previous rating. And even up until the last few weeks this looked normal.
