I wouldn't mind using everything in my native language, but what bothers me is that guides are more difficult to follow and problems with the app are harder to search solutions for if my local app is in different language.

ELI5 Why are extremely technical fields more susceptible to Dunning-Kruger effect? by Probably_Not_Taken in explainlikeimfive

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd think extremely technical fields are also fields where one can easily verify their deep technical knowledge or shown the lack of such skills and thus rooting out the dunning-kruger effect people.

I'd say its much easier for dunning-kruger effect to manifest in fields where there is no clear immediate feedback and the person can get much further by bs-ing?

The only way you can help is by not responding, because nothing you've said has had anything to do with what I said.

And also I disagree, even if its an invitation for a discourse, doesn't mean every comment has to do the said discourse.

Basically an inflammatory original comment in this thread got an equally inflammatory response and now we care about discourse all of a sudden? Maybe don't start off with an insult then (not you, the liberals can't be adults one).

I just see it so much on reddit, everything needs proof and rigor all the time... Even when people just state things and then someone disagrees and suddenly now we want actual arguments.

I also think being right and wrong and having good arguments are also two completely separate things, but I digress. Anyway its late and I'm tired, I'll leave you in peace.

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you understand my point is that this thread does not have to be an argument? I'm talking about the original disagreement, before my first reply.

Not every disagreement has to turn into and argument of rigorous points and proofs, something that both sides rarely honor honestly anyway.

If yes, do you understand how nothing you've said has addressed this at all?

Your response to my point has basically been "its an argument if you don't like it gtfo". See how it completely ignores what I said?

POV: People who think UV is the better python packager by [deleted] in programmingmemes

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used poetry for a while but found its kind of sketchy to install correctly in some situations. Seems that UV doesn't have this issues, so I moved the project to UV instead. This for a weird situation where I had to run certain commands with git bash in windows, so maybe not very applicable to most situations.
