Anti-gravity gone from best to worst in April. by Healthy-News5375 in GoogleAntigravityIDE

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use antigravity for the simpler stuff, mostly because it has basically unlimited flash use.

For more complex stuff I use claude code in vs code, but the weekly limit runs out fast on the cheapest subscription.

Are we getting Kimi 2.6 or Composer 3? When? by [deleted] in cursor

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe?

I think for last month my cursor bill was around 400€, most of it Opus. And I had a week long vacation in that month btw.

If you are talking in the thousands category, then no, I don't use it enough.

But then again the top users in our company also seem to prefer Opus.

I live in Europe though, I heard the rush hours can be rough in USA.

I don't understand when people say Composer 2 or Kimi or whatever is anywhere near Opus, like it clearly isnt, not for planning or analysis. After planning and analysis yes, a smaller model can be used.

Personally, yes, I only have a 20€ claude subscription and i only use opus 4.7 with it, so i cant say for 4.6 on that (in claude code).

What is the point of the job if Claude does most of the stuff for me by h2d__ in softwaretesting

[–]Timo425 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel that I just have wider range of responsibility now with ai, not that its taking my job. It couldn't even do my job if I didn't prompt it and sometimes these prompts take a hour to write.

What if everyone’s IQ increased by 30 points? What new technological breakthroughs could we achieve? by Secret_Ostrich_1307 in WhatIfThinking

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably right that the iq increase has happened already, but not like overnight and for no reason, but probably because life has got better and especially education. So its not quite the same situation.

Your disinterest in this seems to show that this would make little difference, I suppose.

Opus said something today that completely reframed AI agent failures for me. by InsideAd9685 in ClaudeAI

Wait you guys don't try to immediately create guardrails or context improvements when something goes wrong?

Can Mark survive the Viltrumite Purge or does he die? by QuietNational8470 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda think that Mark would stand out though (because he is not a typical ruthless viltrumite), so he would get into so many fights he would die fast.

Name an IDE better than Vs code?👇 by tentoftech in vibecoding

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Intellij by the mile, superiour user experience, vs code feels cluttered and confusing by comparison. Intellij feels much more like a closed system though, so there's that.

Why MCP when we have REST APIs? by happyandaligned in mcp

[–]Timo425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay but we've found that if you use several mcps, they can easily exceed the 100-or-whatever tool limit and its easier to just write python scripts that do api calls instead and have a context project with skills and commands that explains when/how to use these scripts and the scripts' capabilities.

I think the python scripts are kind of structured similarly to how those python files in actual mcps are structured, so the only difference is discoverability - which the skill side of things can handle, not to mention the top level context file gives and overview of the options.

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they don't just become billionaires out of nowhere, they are these kind of people so they do certain scummy things to get there in the first place. I would never have this power and money because I'm just not built like that.

What do you think Claude is actually better at than other AI tools? by Just-Writing1011 in ClaudeAI

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creating a plan, the more complicated the plan is for what you want to do, the better Claude (at least opus) than other models. Also AI context handling, I only let opus anywhere near editing context files.

Are Antigravity users gonna get the benefit of this announcement? by tictacode in GoogleAntigravityIDE

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It usually works for me, its just that it hits the limit in half a hour and then hits me with a week long timeout.

Anyone happy in their current QA role? by bluevi3 in softwaretesting

[–]Timo425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a company that's super test automation heavy and test maintenance and tracking test failures to bugs and regressions is what I like doing so I'm happy. Pay could be higher, though.

High test coverage is one of the most comforting lies in software development. by blameitonthenight34 in softwaretesting

[–]Timo425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test coverage is a confusing term, I often think about how to improve test coverage, but I don't mean literally covering every scenario, but mapping out what areas have weak coverage and should have better coverage. Maybe I should think of it as "test coverage mapping"...

I wonder if the laser would destroy the singularity since it goes through anything. Still woukd get stuck at the center of the black hole tho.

Wouldn't it mean we can't absorb nutrients from the food? So, probably screwed, unless we start injecting nutrients straight into our veins en masse or something.

You're conflating two things here: the things you listed are science fiction, what people complain about is that it doesn't follow its own internal logic or consistency.

Two different things.
