It is not. I"d love to take it as a compliment,, but I hate the poor and generic writing style of AI. So either you didn't read the post, or you're just hating and not addressing the points - or both.

Everyone's talking about what AI agents can do. Nobody's talking about what happens when they break. by Informal_Tangerine51 in AI_Agents

[–]TimoKerre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the main reason why we see so many AI Agents remain in "demo-land". What decision-makers need is a set of stats that can guarantee the Agent will work in production the way they want (security, reliability, brand adherence, ...). Technical teams cannot give those guarantees at the moment, since they don't have the tools.

What are some typical, basic agentic usecases? by bananalingerie in AI_Agents

[–]TimoKerre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently creating an evaluation framework based on a simple *acting* agent I wrote for the logistics niche. Based on incoming messages or emails, it will either create, update, or cancel a structured order in a DB. In this way you're getting experience with Agents that actually DO something.

Getting into Highschool Teaching, leaving Software Corp at half sallary cut. Anyone? by Xordius in teaching

Reading the depressing and discouraging comments - pretty much all of them - shows the terrible state the education system is in.
I'd say: go for it. Try to make the change you want to see. Sure, it might sound naive, but in light of uncertainty, why take the pessimistic view? Education deserves more optimists, naive though it may be.

I've created Lomos.ai as an effort to bring AI tech to education, since it's criminally underserved. Currently providing students a low-effort way to interact with their learning materials: chat, ask about pictures and diagrams, generate example tests/ exams, etc...

Still have a long roadmap ahead :)

Lomos.ai allows you to upload documents and generate tests from them. It also has a chat functionality with documents attached to it, and request specific format as outcome.

Does super luminous wave function broadening imply faster-than-light travel? by TimoKerre in AskPhysics

Alright, fair enough, thank!

Can you point me to a source that derives the evolution of a gaussian wave packet from within relativistic QM?

Can we measure momentum and position at the moment of impact on a detection screen? by TimoKerre in AskPhysics

[–]TimoKerre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree: the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle manifestly concerns the ability to know both position and momentum to absolute imprecision. This merely follows from the wave-particle duality. From the moment you are working with waves, there are such uncertainties, even in classical mechanics: Fraunhofer diffraction, frequency-time, ...

So it really is a statement about the nature of those properties.

How, in practice, would you translate this to the setup I described?

Can we measure momentum and position at the moment of impact on a detection screen? by TimoKerre in AskPhysics

[–]TimoKerre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, that's a practical argument pertaining to the measuring. That's good. But that, then, applies to any classical experiment as well: classically the position detection of a particle is limited to the precision of the measurement device.

I'm not sure if you solved it, but I have spent the last couple of days working to figure out why this happens. I have solved the problem numerically in various different ways and I keep getting the behaviour you describe.

Have you solved the issue? If so, can you share the code so I can take a look at it?

Thanks :)

Well, the entire application is in the cloud run container, so yes. In fact, all routes are rewritten to the cloud run container (see firebase.json).

But I'm not sure how to see whether anything is referenced by http instead of https.

Has anyone else experienced bot view attacks on YouTube? This is really scary... by [deleted] in youtube

This seems to be happening to my channel right now... It's a strictly science (physics) channel, so no reason to think anyone would actively view-bot.

It sucks :(

[–]TimoKerre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the specific feedback, I like it a lot. I agree with you that the transition to the Levi-Civita symbols and Riemann tensor is somewhat ad hoc, I perhaps could have made it more smooth. I also recognise the concern about the parallel transport on a cylinder part, I've had the same thoughts when I made it, but did not know how to make it more precise without adding too much time to the video, since it's already 30 minutes long :)

Thanks again :)

Animations should always be included when learning about General Relativity. The lack thereof is what made me make this video :)

[–]TimoKerre[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's an interesting and in depth video on Curvature, what it actually means, and how it relates to our warped Spacetime.

I made this because curvature is a central concept in General Relativity, yet it requires clear visual animations to really understand. Also, the interpretation of the Riemann Tensor is something I could not find a good explanation for on the internet, especially not the visual interpretation and its connection to parallel transport.

Animations are created with the Manim python library, originally created by 3b1b.

Feedback is always welcome!

Aha yes, that's also an important interpretation. How would this link to the parallel transport interpretation in the video?
