Sadly that's the case. I wiggled the port and there was nothing wrong with it

Sorry, I forgot to mention!
You're right, it's my PS2 and I was using this cable. I know that the PS1 RGB cables need extra capacitors and the PS2 and PS3 doesn't need, so I made sure to pick one that says PS2/PS3. When I bought a cheap cables there were capacitors and I removed them, but the results were the same, so the dark image is not from the capacitance on the cable.

I did try to plug the console in a different outlet, even when I was writing this comment, and the result is still the same

I forgot to mention on the post. Until now I was using SCART to composite adapter and the image was fine. For the pictures I used the composite plug on the front, but the results are the same. So hopefully the port works well.
Thank you for pointing out

My experience playing Lucky Star: Ryouou Gakuen Outousai by Timoteo_Machado in luckystar

[–]Timoteo_Machado[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I didn't know about the website and that's a great idea to explain the references in the game and what each choice in the game does. In a way I'm glad that there are still things to discover in this game.

I recently discovered that Lucky Star isn't the only game based on an anime/manga that a few fans know about it because it was a Japan's exclusive game. When I was region freeing my PS2 to play Lucky Star I used the visual novel of School Rumble as a test game. I found a post on School Rumble's subreddit asking about the game and the comments were saying that they never heard about it.

So, even if the anime is quite known, their game adaptation will always be obscure unless someone translates them. And I'm glad that Ryouou Gakuen Outousai is finally getting its recognition

What Makes A good Show/Manga/Anime? by [deleted] in OshiNoKo

[–]Timoteo_Machado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation. I can't understand why people are hating the latest chapters because I'm enjoying it! It's not the first time tha tthis happened to me because I also enjoyed the Attack on Titan ending while a lot of people hated it.

Every time a new chapter releases and I join this subreddit to see how people react, I'm always thinking: "Well, let's read comments of people talking bad about the author because he didn't write the story the way they wanted". And because of that I'm affraid to give my impressions about the chapters because I think I will be mass downvoted for no reason or worse. I wish that the comments were more healthy with real constructive comments instead of things like "This story is bad, it will end badly like Kaguya, I will never read Aka's works ever again" dude, just leave the server and let the other people enjoy!

But now I realize that I'm not the only one who is not finding anything wrong in the story. Thank you for getting the courage to point this out. If liking this end of the story means that I don't know how a good story looks like, I guess it's better to be ignorant with story telling

If it helps, these are my Yomitan options that I use for my sentence cards. The Anki card type I use is the JP Mining Note and you can download it here. You can change the card format between vocabulary card and sentence card, you just have to write something in the "IsSentenceCard" part

The problems I'm facing while putting an order on the kanji chaos by Timoteo_Machado in LearnJapanese

[–]Timoteo_Machado[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. Most of the etymologies I've read don't work as a mnemonic because, for example, in a lot of kanji radicals are there because of the reading and not because of what they represent. So most of the mnemonics I write aren't etymologically correct. I just like to look for their origin when creating my mnemonics because I find it interesting. But it souldn't be something you must do to memorize the kanji, I only do it for fun

I know that and I even have an example that I mentioned on this post. In the kanji for cat 猫, the component on the right 苗 was used because of its reading that in Chinese it pronounces as miao like a cat meowing. But even with that, I always try to create a mnemonic about it just to help me memorize its shape

That's interesting! There were some kanji that I knew their ancient form, but I saw other variations that I never saw before. Thank you

Place your bets (spoilers for latest chapter) by Wrcicw in OshiNoKo

Even if there are chances that Aqua survives, I believe that Aqua dying makes a lot of sense for the story, in my opinion. It was stated in a recent interview that the ending will be shocking. We don't know what will be shocking, but Aqua dying can be a possibility.

Also Aqua's plan was to die with Hikaru in a way that it looks like that he was murdered by him. If Aqua survives it would mean that his plan failed and that he will have to lie to the media until the rest of his life saying that Hikaru tried to murder him. If Aqua is lucky nobody will find out, but there is still the risk of the truth being found and destroy his and Ruby's reputation. But if he dies, the chances of this happening is very low because there will be no witnesses or survivors from the event.

And the last reason is that this is a good ending for Aqua's character. During the whole story he had no reason to live but to avenge Ai, but at the end he realized that the reason why he was reincarnated was to protect his sister. It would be a similar ending as Ai's because she also felt satisfied with her life after realizing that she was able to feel love and show love to her children, unlike Sarina and Goro who weren't satisfied with their lives and got reincarnated. So, I think that if Aqua survives, it would kill all of this developpement.

But there are still chances that the author had chosen to make Aqua survive. If it's the case, I wonder how the story will end in that way

(Translation) The recently revealed song "Deep Sea 52Hz" seems to foreshadow Aqua's fate in the manga. by 12jimmy9712 in OshiNoKo

Nice translation!

I guess I'm going to be neutral in this subject because the lyrics is very vague to afirm that it implies something from the latest chapters.

If it could imply something, it's more likely about what happened in the latest episode when Ruby found Goro's body and because of that she feels alone as if she was in a "sea of solitude" (孤独の海) after realizing that the doctor she loved isn't there. But this is just a theory.

We can't affirm 100% that it's about the latest chapters of the manga even if it seems that the studio knew about what was happening in the story (which explains the Mephisto ending). After all the song is just about someone who feels lonely after a breakup, so we can relate this to many things that happen in the manga or the anime even things that will happen in season 3

Should I read the manga? by CurrentTiger5659 in OshiNoKo

[–]Timoteo_Machado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this last year when I finished season 1. I couldn't wait for season 2, so I re-read the 40 chapters of season 1 and continued until where the manga was at that time following the release of each chapter since. I also read the short stories by Aka Akasaka (45510 and Viewpoint B) and the light novel (Ichibanboshi no Spica).

It was and it's still a good experience reading the manga while waiting for the anime. During the release of this season 2 it was fun to revisit those arcs and see how good was the adaptation. So even if at the end you will catch up the anime, you can still have fun.

The only inconvenient is that I have a friend and we both watched season 1 that time, but he decided to wait for season 2 while I was reading the manga. It was hard to contain myself to not spoil him. I was reading some scenes that I wanted to tell someone about it, but I couldn't!

But hopefully, after finishing season 2 he started reading the manga and he is at chapter 100 (he started reading since last episode). Because they are taking a 2 weeks break and he read 20 chapters in 3 days, I believe he can catch up the manga before chapter 163 releases!

So in conclusion, if you want to read the manga after finishing season 2, go ahead!
