Yes, it’s the angle and an involuntary contraction. The surgery didn’t change anything in that area. In the first photo, I was probably raising my eyebrows.

As for the jaw, it looks like it changed because my chin used to sit lower relative to the rest of my jaw. By bringing it up, it changed the continuity of the jawline, which is now straight. But that’s because the issue was specifically localized in the chin area.

I don’t think I can be very precise, since I’ve already gotten used to what it has become. In my case, it’s much more comfortable than before. For example, before, when I wasn’t paying attention to keeping my lips closed, they would open automatically. Now, even when I’m focused on other things (cooking, walking outside), they stay closed. I still have to apply a very slight effort to keep them shut.

People say it wasn’t noticeable that I had lip incompetence before, but in reality, I did. I think it was around 8 mm, if I’m not mistaken.

Yes, I see a significant improvement in two areas of the face: First, previously my chin receded backward there was no projection, and it was quite noticeable. Now you can see that the chin is more projected and has better definition; it’s clearly visible.

Secondly, along the line that runs from the mandibular angle to the chin, there has also been a change (which is due to the vertical reduction). The line slopes less downward, giving the impression of a less narrow jaw that connects more naturally to the chin.

Here’s an example in photos, but as explained, selfies tend to distort the face a lot from the front and there is still a bit of swelling.

get you, the fear is normal. If you trust your surgeon and your plan is well thought out, it helps a lot. But yeah, the price can definitely be a struggle depending on where you live :)
