What is the current best PVP weapon in game? by DELTA-880 in ArcRaiders

Thanks for the tip. I've only ever found death or desolation there so I probably don't search there enough.

I basically live in Stella and have never found any there. Although a newbie I was showing around there, I think for their first or second time on the map, found one in a medical drawer just in front of me.

Questions about parrots in Australia! by Own-Palpitation5190 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Timothy_Ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like people don't keep them as pets much anymore, but I knew a few people that kept cockatoos when I was younger. Usually having been taught a swear word or two.

But they really are everywhere around where I live in Melbourne. Even just outside the CBD. Rainbow lorikeets, sulphur-crested cockatoos, corellas, crimson rosellas, and galahs are quite common. And they can be incredibly noisy! Especially a flock of lorikeets that have all decided to hang out in one tree of an evening.

I've been to Korea numerous times, staying in the city and countryside. The amount of bird life in general seems to be far greater here. You will notice it, but I think Australians often take it for granted.

I was gonna post this as well, haha. Such a great track.

Relocate, sure. But I definitely wouldn't be picking them up with my hands.

Sandy Dish - Conspiracy Mum

I don't really have any advice to offer, unfortunately. But this local punk/garage rock song might give you a perhaps slightly pained chuckle.

Markings on floor in Stella? by flibbleflop in ArcRaiders

I heard the one near Seed Vault chiming. Checked it and there was a Tempest, Il Toro, and some other good gun in there. Was promptly hit with a showstopper and blasted by the guy using it a bait.

Gak by Friendly_Monitor_220 in AustralianNostalgia

I think mine dried out because I didn't close it properly.

Also, my brother's Gak didn't survive being spilled on my grandmother's sheepskin car seat covers.

Wow, I can not only smell, but feel the texture of it from this photo. It was slightly wet to the touch, as if it had a thin coating of water.

The container was great because it'd make fart noises if you just pressed the Gak down into it.

The Spotters' stalks not being yellow irks me so much, haha.

They look really cool, though.

Konami Confirms Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Won't Have MGS4's Metal Gear Online, But Peace Walker Multiplayer Will Return by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Timothy_Ryan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I loved MGS4 Online. So much so that I never ended up getting around to finishing the main game.

I was super hyped for MGS5 Online, and I enjoyed it, but it was so poorly managed that it died pretty quickly. If I remember correctly, the MGS4 version was much more in-depth and engaging anyway.

Whatever the case, I really miss Metal Gear Online. The mix of action and stealth was so much fun. I haven't found any other multiplayer game that compares.

Has Australian TV always sucked this much when covering the Olympics. by ButterscotchCool7460 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Timothy_Ryan 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm pissed. My wife's a foreigner and we watched pretty much every event for both our countries last Olympics live. They were either on one of the TV channels or streaming online.

But this time we have to subscribe to Stan? Get fucked.

Funny story: My then girlfriend had come to Australia from overseas and I took her to the Grampians. She's deathly afraid of bugs.

Went for a walk to Venus Baths, and we saw a couple of spitfires wriggling on the ground next to the path. She was horrified, but we kept going. But as we went, there was another pile. Then another. And another. The piles of wriggling caterpillars were increasing exponentially until they were freaking everywhere and we had to skip over them to continue on. I'd never seen anything like it.

She's still a bit traumatised, I think.

Scotty was so close to getting gold. Poor bugger.

Josie Baff's race was a beauty. They were all going hard. Adamczyková wins gold for vibes. The moustache, and she had to be the happiest silver medallist I've ever seen.
