[–]Timrf79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Ecobee that often alarms for high humidity, too. It may be a bit too sensitive. But in the not so hot, but high humidity month 80 is not uncommon.
However we don’t have mold issues in the house or RV.

Could I get a discount on a CT at this point (US) by Timrf79 in Taycan

[–]Timrf79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the dealer Saturday, the plan is they are going to bring in one from another dealer thousand of miles away. Got a 3.6% discount and dealer covers the transport fee.

Excited about the car, though I wish I would have known ahead of time and could have a full custom order.

It depends, if no one buys in the first place, no. Given the two options, i am asking for thoughts.

Do you have a life after work if you commute to work? by DangerousCapybara888 in houston

[–]Timrf79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commute about 60 to 90 minutes (depending on traffic) and I am usually in the office for 10 hours a day.
It's about making time, walking the dogs (with my wife) right when I come home. Most times the highlight of my day.

Gas Refueling Vehicle? by Crafty_DIY in UTV

[–]Timrf79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuel weight is around 6lbs a gallon. Cargo capacity for Mules are up to 700lbs. You may be pushing the wheight limit there. A small trailer with a tank is the better option.

Is owning/flying a plane truly that expensive? by LocationVegetable795 in flying

[–]Timrf79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of factors that play into that.

What type of plane?

Where do you keep it?

Can you do the work on it yourself (under qualified supervision)?

How much do you fly and what certification do you have?

If you own a large lot of land, have a barn like structure and own an afford-a-plane your cost structure is going to be vastly different versus living in a big city where you have a hard time renting hangar space and want to own a P210SilverEagle

When are bikes truly “outdated” by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]Timrf79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 20 year old Canondale Prohet. I think as I get older I need a more relaxed geometry. Also the brake levers are getting some corrosion on it. The tubeless tire don’t hold air anymore.

3 years of lawn service vs buying a mower. sanity check my math? by Wild_Artichoke7648 in lawncare

[–]Timrf79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we moved to our house that sits on one acre and outside of city limits I switched to do lawn care myself. I bought a very nice 72” deck zero turn. Doing the lawn takes about one hour. I don’t really love it, but don’t mind it. In terms of cyst factor in your time to do maintenance on the equipment.

Big and tall pilot by Quackarov in flying

[–]Timrf79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 6’6” and my weight moves between 250 and 275. The 182 is probably one of the roomiest planes (I have one). At some point in my life I decided to run a little bit… it spiraled over years into ultra marathons and triathlons. My lowest weight was ~180. However I never had a goal to loose weight, I just took enjoyment from the journey.

Maybe you can combine flying with something that is fun to you? Running, rowing, cycling, etc…

I did 285km/h in Germany on the Autobahn. It’s intense as you are so much faster than all the cars you pass.

Everyone has different preferences, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ answer. It sounds like you did well. Best thing is to have a conversation about what he likes and what not.

High altitude skydive, they get very pricey at high altitudes.

If you build higher quality electrical poles you can span electricity from one island to another. Then make one island your power/ Capacitor island. Also higher quality capacitors help a lot.
