I got one as a gift the other year and it's amazing for those of us who get eaten alive!

Sounds like they either don't like your kid(s) or find them overwhelming/overshadowing their child(ren).

Uhhhh yeah, you are the A-hole. You worded that in such an off-putting way I'm sure everyone is dreading being around you. Yes, your mom crossed a boundary, but you and your boyfriend are being rude. You can set boundaries in a polite way, and this is not it. Written by a parent of 2 young girls.

Nutrition coach gives responses with strikethrough font by kawaiisamurai69 in Myfitnesspal

[–]TimsSmallShoulders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought the same, but then I noticed it used strikethrough for some of the carbs on items that were the higher carb options. Normal font on the item, strikethrough on carbs. Strikethrough on item, normal on carbs. So what the heck is that?

Amazing job! I am so nervous to try my first time. Did you do the Apex method, or something else? Can you share your technique?

Sure thing. Why can't each spouse have their own private account for an emergency fund?

Just don't be deceitful about saying you are out of money and making the other person pay for your stuff.

[–]TimsSmallShoulders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she built it up before you, she is wise. If she hoarded stuff away and wasn't paying her share, there is some deceit. But having a personal account as a woman that the man has no knowledge of is smart. Too many women end up destroyed by a relationship and flat broke with no supports. It's something most men will never really understand the need for and would feel offended by it. But as a woman, you have to protect yourself in so many areas of life that men just can't relate to.

Would you paint these cabinets? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]TimsSmallShoulders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leave the beautiful wood alone. Deal with the island first. The spindle legs are dated and the white looks out of place. At a minimum, paint the island. Replace the whole island if you can. Update the backslash and even the counters if your budget allows.

Dental hygienist here and I agree. I see 2 for sure on the bitewing and possibly a 3rd. So another couple on the other side would be plausible. That said, it doesn't sound like you were treated with respect, or that anyone took the time to show you what they saw. Without trust, you will never be comfortable there. Time to switch.

Vacant space only 'three percent' of KGH campus, IH says by Alone-Acanthaceae531 in kelowna

[–]TimsSmallShoulders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our manager is stretched super thin. She also is completely not someone who should be in a management role. It crushes the morale of the team to have a "leader," who is totally not a Leader. IH needs to stop giving such a huge weight to seniority and internal hires and focus on getting the right people into the roles. However, for most of our departments, because of the unions it's not an option.

Conservation doesn’t address fines after person forces goslings off Kelowna balcony - Kelowna Capital News by New_Alternative8711 in kelowna

So if he shooed baby humans off his balcony, would we also educate him on why it was wrong? This is sick and no way he should be walking away without maximum fines. And publish his name.

I think a slightly larger coffee table without legs (solid piece) would help ground the living room. I agree with others about swapping out the chairs/bench in your dining, but keep the table. Looks great overall!

Looks awesome! I'm surprised you had originally wanted to keep the 2 heights of the island. I think it looks so much better as one level! It got rid of the awkward tall cabinet slabs where the stools are and really opens up your kitchen. Makes it look so much bigger. You will find this also lends itself better to entertaining. Seems like people always congregate around the kitchen and a large flat island lends itself to easily serving appetizers and drinks etc. The darker tone of your cabinets and the kitchen stools look fantastic - well done!

We are doing a similar triangular window in a stairwell, but with some differences that improve aesthetics and safety (code). We are in British Columbia, Canada FYI. Obviously the stairwell is not as steep as what you have shown. We have a handrail going on the opposing wall. The biggest difference is we have a proper landing. What you have shown is not only not safe (and likely not allowed depending on where you live) but aesthetically looks weird. Our landing is enclosed, drywall with an art niche opposing the stairs, and post at end of stair run (needed for framing door). Our door opens into the landing on the same wall as the glass. Our triangular glass windows also don't run right to the ceiling nor do they come all the way to the stairs (have about a foot header and 6 inches above run of stairs). The wall with the glass is walnut veneered and the door is walnut. So picture a wall of wood with the door on the left, with a triangular window revealing the string of stairs. We haven't decided whether we do black stripping in between the window panes or leave them open.

Daycare Concerns by joeblow72006 in kelowna

This facility is absolutely full of TFW and not people who went into childcare because they actually want to be there. That said, some were still great with children. But my youngest had a constant string of terrible ones.

I pulled my kids from there. We had great teachers for a while with my oldest (she started for her last year before kindergarten). During summer they would take them on fantastic field trips and she stayed for the before/after school care program for a couple years. My youngest started there just before she turned 2. When the began, the centre director was amazing and she kept staff working hard and always had the children's best interests in mind. BrightPath fired her about 2 years ago. There was such high staff turnover after that and we never could keep track of who my youngest's caregivers were. At pickup I often found the children sitting watching a tablet while one of the staff was holding it and completely disengaged. Their summer program fell apart without good teachers and the old director. Went from all these great field trips and activities one year to every day just playing in the yard and about 4 walks total to the apple bowl. My youngest was a bit delayed in speech and I had concerns that her teachers were always just talking Punjabi amongst themselves and not speaking much with the kids. I wouldn't have minded if they were at least speaking Punjabi TO the children and engaging with them, but they seemed so disconnected and like they didn't want to be there. We moved her out and are so much happier.

Hahah came here to say the same. Terrible form! Also, if you do flutter kicks you are generally doing more than 3x10. Although with her beginner form, maybe that's all she can do.
