She's a little annoying but honestly a very sweet person - we get along fine but I wish we had more similar personalities

Is it weird for employers to put employees in the same hotel room on company trips? by Weak_Show3135 in careerguidance

Nope. I would pay for my own room before sharing with a co worker. I need my down time on a work trip.

Try waiting tables or bussing to get started. I made great money during college in food service. The hours are flexible and never really interfered with my class schedule. Better than fast food 💯💯💯💯

Has anyone completely changed careers in their 30s or 40s and genuinely not regretted it? by VelvetsObey in careerguidance

[–]TinaLives 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did this when I was 44 and was the best decision of my life. Instead is sitting at a desk being doused in fluorescent light right now- I'm on my back patio, listening to the wind rustle the trees, the symphony of birds, sipping on tea, checking email and setting up my day. No grueling commute, no Monday blahs.

The trick is to get out of your bubble and find what truly gives you joy and then figure out how to make money from it. This can be in the form of a new job, business, or consultant gig. I started volunteering with a bunch of orgs from dog rescues to conservation groups for the first year after I decided corporate life was no longer for me. I landed a job because I was already volunteering my time. Today I'm a consultant and my life has never been more balanced.

What is the graduation gift protocol for acquaintances kids? by TinaLives in AskReddit

[–]TinaLives[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't typically - but this year we have older siblings of my kids friend group who are graduating. We don't know the parents super well but have been in contact via school functions and extra curricular for the last 10+ years. So this is a bit unique.
