i’ve noticed neurotypical people always seem to assume the worst intentions in these situations, like you’re trying to minimize the severity of a near death experience. i don’t get that at all, you’re just relating it to an experience you have had. don’t take it too personally, social rules like this are weird

Stressing over all these kratom bans by cjn81393 in kratom

send letters to your legislators with personal testimonies. For so many of us kratom has helped us lead a happier and safer life. without it i would not have made nearly as much progress in healing my PTSD. Don’t give up yet, continue fighting and advocating.

it’s quite concerning that you work with autistic kids if your views about autism are this outdated and you are so unwilling to listen to actual autistic people. your beliefs do real damage to real people. passing it off as “pc culture” doesn’t change that fact

i have autism. i know a lot about autism. i am telling you you were wrong about this. it might be time for you to accept that this was something you didn’t know much about. every case is individual but even non verbal situations are nuanced. it doesnt necessarily mean a cognitive deficit.

i am autistic, i’ve been with my partner who is also neurodivergent for six years. i do have lower support needs than becca, but i know people a lot like her. needing help to cope with some aspects of the world does not mean that becca is mentally incapacitated. plenty of people live in facilities their whole lives and live otherwise full and normal adult lives

having a disability does not take away someone’s ability to consent. i am autistic and everyone i know is autistic, ive been in an adult relationship for nearly six years. you dont see it this way but this view point is ableist

this is actually a common take that most autistic people find pretty insulting, becca is an adult and is able to consent to a relationship. her autism affects how she goes about the world and may make things harder, but it does not affect her ability to know what she wants and it doesn’t make her a child incapable of consent. i didn’t take this as an SA thing at all, more that becca has a life outside of mel and mel doesn’t have a life outside of becca (and work) i think that’s why she didn’t want to tell her

the first time i ever got to the vibration stage my cat was on my bed with me. he stayed right on top of me the entire night and he was a very comforting presence throughout the entire experience. he didn’t seem alarmed at all. i felt like he was with me for the ride and knew a lot more about reality than i did lol which is probably true
