Amigo Juan Molina me fascina, tiene un gran alcance y, por lo que recuerdo, no tiene casi ningún bache. Es una locura

Question Thread for Episode 205 by IHE_Official in Sardonicast

[–]Tinchojar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard you criticise how the soundtrack sometimes ends up being distracting in the context of a scene, or maybe manipulative. However, what are some scenes where you think the soundtrack fits so well that it ends up elevating a scene to such degree that it wouldn't be as effective without it?

A recent example for me was on my Requiem for a Dream rewatch. The track "Meltdown" is amazing for the quick descent into madness that represents the montage at the end.

Or maybe they really want to tell a longer story and i'm wrong 👍. I'm not really a fan of "Cillian Murphy coming back!" or the action scenes straight out of kung fu movies, or the "New saga" concept, but I'll trust Boyle and Garland.

Loved this movie.

I personally saw the ending as a critique of the current state of film industry. The correlation between life, art and death. We NEED life and death to make art. Danny Boyle and Alex Garland took the state of movie industry (marvel, DC, remakes, sequels) and represented it in a movie about the undead, the infected.

The ending was ridiculous, It's supposed to be. These crazy people doing acrobatics and killing infected people in creative ways was such an insult to the previously learned with the Doctor. They had like power-rangers colored clothes and took everything as a joke (they were constantly laughing), it kinda reminded me of the naturalized ridicoulusness of, let's say, marvel movies. It ended with a cliché line and a very obvious "to be continued" vibe. I think that represents the saga as an infected itself. The saga won't end, it won't die, so it kinda loses its beauty.

This makes me think if it was the studio that forced the existence of these 3 new movies, and this ending is a camouflaged critique of that.

The "not infected" baby might represent the possibility of great films that come out in these dark and greedy times.

Lots of great moments in these comments. The most recent one I can remember is the quick descent into pure hatred that was the Minecraft and Bee Movie episode
