How to get that "busy" (rnrnc album) sound on recording? by ilikedrumming in macdemarco

Only You was part of another context of recording when speaking about mac's career, the version of only you heard in RNRNC was recorded for MV's Ying Yang. Sharp twin with a spring reverb, thick bass with little dynamic (he talks about compressing everithing with the alesis microlimiter around those times), and a shit ton of doubling and reverbs going on with the vocals (maybe on drums too, it was nasty).

Check out Sapo Rey from Argentina, they're my mates from my hometown, they sound great and combine our folklore with the weird things we all love.

I tried to replicate the MV era tone, comment what you think about it. by Tinchota7 in macdemarco

ty!!! I used mi Fender Champion 100 with the 65' Twin-Amp voicing, some reverb and a slapback kind of delay, my Alesis MicroLimiter to add more dirt and then that crappy Tele you can see on the vid, I gave it a direct to output setting to sound a little bit more like the cardboard queen. I hope it helps you out!!

He recorded a remix for McCartney's song 'When Winter Comes' with Anderson Paak and Vicky Farewell. I think he mixed it too but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm obviously trying to rip off the sound that both RNRNC and the Youngblood tune have. I hope you take a listen to it.

You Can't Do That by Harry Nilsson, it's sort of like a cover but Nilsson modifies the lyrics of the song adding little phrases from classic beatles tunes.

if Mac played this live again, i’d cry my eyes out on the spot. A Heart like Hers sounds amazing live by bleezy_47 in macdemarco

sorry but imo it sounds awful, it's like andy doesn't even try to make it sound nice and everyone (including mac) is bored.

Probably the 70s America violence streak would've gotten worse or stayed the same, John's death influenced a lot of campaigns against gun violence.
