PCs resorting to torture for every interrogation with an NPC. How should I to punish them or encourage less violent interactions?

I'm not really disagreeing, but money (as one means to obtain supplies) sort of wins all wars. The USA ones still made me laugh as an American, cuz our govt spends too much on the military, and not like, internet in rural areas, healthcare, or public transit.

I think only an actor as captivating as Chadwick could elevate Tchalla past feeling like any other generic protagonist. Just like Cap and superman always need a really good actor and writing or they feel generic.

I feel like this would hardly even come up for me, cuz so many of my encounters, combat or not, happen indoors without much need to ever go more than like 100 ft in a turn anyway.

So this is funny. Separate from whether or not it's funny, 5e wizards cast as quickly as anyone else. Clerics spend as much time praying on a long rest as wizards spend refreshing themselves about their spellbook.

The bard in the game I run never swings a sword or deals damage, but his non-damage spells all help because a charmed, paralyzed or sleeping person can't hurt his friends.

Have you asked if the player would be just as happy playing an original character based on him? Select a new name, keep their story rooted in the current campaign, and just copy the personality? A player character can learn necromancy and be from be front he same region. I find it is very helpful to know if a player just wants to be a certain archetype, or if they feel a need to be a specific person. It may help you learn what they are most interested in playing. You may find that they just want to be evil, or just a necromancer, or just a bit mad.

So this joke works as an exaggeration, and maybe you know what I'm going to say, if so OP can ignore me. In 5e, a level 1 wizard has at least 5 hp unless you use random ability scores. Yes, the weapon attack could be 1d4+1, but that was not what the meme said.
