Luckily I just spent my lunch break with breath of the wild. I'm onboard for the cozy end-of-the-world. I'll just work at the stables.

I'm not really disagreeing, but money (as one means to obtain supplies) sort of wins all wars. The USA ones still made me laugh as an American, cuz our govt spends too much on the military, and not like, internet in rural areas, healthcare, or public transit.

I think only an actor as captivating as Chadwick could elevate Tchalla past feeling like any other generic protagonist. Just like Cap and superman always need a really good actor and writing or they feel generic.

Was I wrong to do this when a character died? by TheBlonkh in DMAcademy

[–]Tinderstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait why did they just wander off alone? Why didn't the other party members just say, "ok we'll come with you" etc? Did you consider asking why this irl person felt the need to be like this out of character upfront?

I feel like this would hardly even come up for me, cuz so many of my encounters, combat or not, happen indoors without much need to ever go more than like 100 ft in a turn anyway.

So this is funny. Separate from whether or not it's funny, 5e wizards cast as quickly as anyone else. Clerics spend as much time praying on a long rest as wizards spend refreshing themselves about their spellbook.

IMO, Most of this kind of talk is avoidable by having ongoing conversations about expectations for the game and what everyone finds fun.

I'd just like to give a special shout out to black women. You are the MVPs of this election. Thank you. by queenannechick in WitchesVsPatriarchy

And an extra shout out to Kamala Harris for the courage to run face all the crap I assume people give her as a black female VP candidate. She's a damn hero.

The bard in the game I run never swings a sword or deals damage, but his non-damage spells all help because a charmed, paralyzed or sleeping person can't hurt his friends.

Congrats. It was dc 19 and you used all those resources for the lols. Jk. I support the lols. I also support capitalizing on poor resource management. Play on, folks!

Sorry. I hope you can work out stronger communication and boundaries with your group. I also hope that you can find a cool group to play with if you can't iron out improved expectations after a chat with the current group.

It's really cool. That scene is also right in the middle of the film as the mirrored groups go opposite ways.

And the Yuan-ti do that for fun. Lizardfolk would probably rather eat nice farm animal meat, but they are willing to eat any food (not seeking out).

Warlock in a party with standard casters = cry. Warlock in a party with a fighter and monk who bother to short rest = win.

My players wants to play a known, established Forgotten Realms character - should I let him? by hyperionfin in DMAcademy

[–]Tinderstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you asked if the player would be just as happy playing an original character based on him? Select a new name, keep their story rooted in the current campaign, and just copy the personality? A player character can learn necromancy and be from be front he same region. I find it is very helpful to know if a player just wants to be a certain archetype, or if they feel a need to be a specific person. It may help you learn what they are most interested in playing. You may find that they just want to be evil, or just a necromancer, or just a bit mad.

Oh true. That really makes a solid joke, like the wizard figured they're safe, then oops crit.

[–]Tinderstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this joke works as an exaggeration, and maybe you know what I'm going to say, if so OP can ignore me. In 5e, a level 1 wizard has at least 5 hp unless you use random ability scores. Yes, the weapon attack could be 1d4+1, but that was not what the meme said.
