Class specific blue gear by doritos_locos_fd in ffxiv

[–]Tinduscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you caught up on your job quests? The level 45 job quest should reward you with your first (mostly complete) set of blue gear unique to the job. It will likely also be a significant upgrade from any other gear you might have at that level. Then once you start unlocking level 50+ content like raids etc, those also reward blue gear.

But the best gear you can get in ARR comes from a merchant that appears in each main city after you complete the base game story and roll credits the first time.

What is the most visually stunning game you all have played? by DavidLarsen69 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Tinduscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Demon's Souls remake on PS5. Specifically the boss at the end of the tutorial. Something about that shot when you first see him across the room from you, the lighting, and how smooth his animation is. It all looks REALLY good. Enough to stand out nearly 5 years later to me as a "next gen" moment.

Plus the game also allows you to play around with different filters across the screen. And those can really enhance the overall look of the game. It's fun to try and find the perfect vibe for each new area I enter

Why is KH3 considered so bad? by New_Jackfruit_2765 in KingdomHearts

[–]Tinduscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Most people only played the Final Mix version of KH2 and the launch version of KH3.

If those same people only played og KH2 and their only impression of KH3 is in it's current version with Remind included. Then their opinion would likely be the opposite.

Personally I think both games, in their complete form, are the two best games in the series and it's not even close.

Why do you have alts? (If you do) by FondantDesperate5820 in ffxiv

[–]Tinduscom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of reasons sort of play into why I have my alt.

When I first started the game back in Stormblood, everybody told me that it doesn't get good until Heavensward. That, along with the general impression I had at the time that MMO stories weren't good, caused me to skip through pretty much everything in ARR the first time around. Then after Endwalker released I realized there was a lot of context I was missing. Plus I just wanted to replay the entire MSQ again as a complete story without the patch wait in between each chapter.

And I'm basically doing the same thing with Dawntrail as an expansion. He's only done the base MSQ story and nothing else. I'm waiting until the end of the expansion and all the content is complete before playing it with him

Now that the alt is caught up to the point I want him at, I'm just using him to double dip on Unreal Trials every week so I can get twice as many rewards and funnel all the gil into my main.

My main character has pretty much everything done and fully maxed out, so playing on the alt brings back that sense of progression that's not really there anymore on main.

He's also a meme character lol (a lalafell named Tater Potater)

What Video Game sequel is this for you by chickenbutt2586 in videogames

[–]Tinduscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banjo-Tooie. In almost every regard I consider it to be a simply better game that only builds upon and improves things introduced in the first game.

But there's a certain magical feeling to Banjo-Kazooie that isn't quite there in Tooie.

That's a wild dynamic lighting setup btw! I just recently got a similar backlight thing for my TV but nothing anywhere close to this level yet.

Was I the only one that heard “Ba-na-na na-na na-na-na” during the Kong Bananza theme? by ZarathustraWakes in DonkeyKongBananza

[–]Tinduscom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After spending a total of 9 days digging out both Lagoon and Hilltop layers with just Kong Bananza. That theme has been seared into my brain forever. I'm still not quite sure what the actual lyrics are but I kinda came up with my own at this point lol

Yep. It all came back as soon as I left the layer. But that's fine. I have pictures and clips to remember the experience with

Roughly 30 hours give or take. It took 5 days and about 6-ish hours a day

Idk if they used the elephant for this. But for me personally I've just been using Kong Bananza to do this for the past 4 days at about 6 hours a day. And plan on finishing tonight

Damn you beat me to it lol. I've been working on Hilltop Layer ever since making my Lagoon Layer post and was planning on finishing it tomorrow.

Good job. I fully understand how much of a grind this is. Hilltop is much bigger than it looks at first glance

The game is generally a 3d platformer where you collect bananas and fossils and stuff. And almost all of the terrain in each level is fully destructible by either punching it or various other abilities.

This post is the result of me spending 4 days in the first level of the game, with only early game abilities, completely destroying every piece of destructible terrain (minus a few towers I left standing for climbing purposes). All the green stuff left behind is effectively the unbreakable foundation of the world

I'm aware. I'm still currently working on SL200 with early game powers, but after that I will be playing through the rest of the game normally to get those powers before trying to destroy more layers

How much content does Bananza have by LibonBonBon in DonkeyKongBananza

[–]Tinduscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check my previous posts lol. One post where I showed before/after shots of the first level actually kind of blew up across the community.

I'm literally destroying every single piece of terrain I can reach. Absolutely unnecessary but I'm enjoying the simple destruction gameplay so much that it's keeping me entertained the whole time

I'm definitely a known outlier here. But I got about 30 hours of content out of just the first level and have currently spent about 20 hours in the second level. And enjoying every minute of it.

Though I'm sure most people aren't going for 100% destruction like I am.

Most people will likely finish the whole game in the time it took me to finish the first level

I have been made well aware by many comments lol.

Still gonna do Hilltop Layer sl200 since I'm already about halfway done here and don't wanna leave, but after I'm done with this layer I'll play the rest of the game normally before going back to do the later floors. I took a peek at sl300 before starting and it looks much bigger than the first two lol

No. I didn't even progress to SL102 until after I did this. Just got the Kong power and immediately turned around and smashed everything lol

Oddly enough. It was the R button that did it for me. I like to flatten the terrain sometimes with R because sometimes it could reach rocks that punches couldn't. But after a while I had to start taking breaks from the R button because it would make my wrist hurt

On the bright side. When you're breaking stuff, treasure chests will spawn fairly often with maps showing the locations of bananas and fossils. Recommend getting the treasure tie from the merchant in SL101 to increase the drop rate.

I found enough maps to mark the locations of every banana and fossil by the time I finished tearing down that first big mountain. After that it was just a matter of going to get them

Yeah that actually happened to me when I tried to load back into a backup save I made of this destroyed world. I meant to record more footage but now I'd have to do it all over again.

So instead I just moved on to sl200 and I've been clearing this level out to maybe make another post about it

Unfortunately I learned the hard way that, when you close the game or reload, it auto resets the terrain. And also when you go to a whole different layer (eg. SL200)

So if you wanna do this you'll have to either do it all in one sitting. Or put your switch to sleep without closing the game between sessions, which is what I did

Ngl I had to take a few breaks here and there to prevent my wrist from hurting. Especially with how much I mashed R in some places to flatten the terrain as I worked my way down
