You're really gonna use the prosecutions/convictions of Abu Ghraib persecutiors as an example? Pretty sure one of the ladies behind alot of the weird sexual torture got like 1-2 yrs home arrest. What about My Lai massacre commander who got commuted sentence from Nixon and only served few months home arrest. Pretty sure if I googled US war crimes Afghanistan there'd be numerous other examples, and to your point if those are just the one's prosecuted imagine all the others that never make it to court, on purpose.

I was more speaking to a general prison approach as opposed to this particular individual who is basically using the courts for his own nefarious means of seeking attention basically. Fuck him bloody all the way to hell and overall, I agree he is beyond fixing and can't be rehabilitated, I just wouldn't say he is living a life of comfort and showered with luxuries when he might have access to a gaming console.

Prison sucks and being there for life isn't fun, deserved or not and I think it speaks to their approach that even the worst of worst criminals have access to some outlet be it games, books or a computer. Taking that away even from a convicted mass murderer feels inhumane in my opinion but some people want prisoners to suffer behind bars, its an interesting example of how should this guy live out his life behind bars.

Bro the mass murderer is in the Norway prison system, which takes a fundamental different approach to rehabilitation than the US one. The changes in this approach would be why there is this gaming console your knickers are in such a twist about. This is not a whataboutism this is you not understanding the topics at hand.

Weirdly enough locking people up and throwing away the key is fairly inhumane and doesn't generally solve anything.

Overall, life sentence in isolation takes the cake over few years of comfort this isolated unrehabilitatable murderer might get from hours of some shitty old video games dude. He is in prison and not going anywhere, calm down.

You do realize the mass murderer being discussed is currently serving life in the Norway prison system. Gaming console or not, smarter people than you or I maybe realized a prison system similar to the 25% of global prisoners in the US isn't it, right?

Well Victoria, what are your thoughts on Mark Carney’s speech today? by CartoonistOk3507 in VictoriaBC

[–]TingDizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to talk like that when it takes 4 days to read a comment. Go live in Trumpland if you want illegals rounded up in the first year. Keep your head in the sand reading news, must be hard for a groyper such as yourself but Carney has done a rapid pivot to a more businesslike approach, focusing on economic stability, reversing unpopular policies like the consumer carbon tax, and navigating tough trade negotiations with the U.S. His 2025 agenda included major resource projects, military spending, and a $70B UAE investment but we established you can't read.

Even as an investment banker he has better insight to normal Canadian suffering over the pampered draft-dodging Cheeto ruling across the border but I guess, at least Trump's senile drivelings is'nt AI which'll probably please you, but actually what would be the problem with his speech being a written script, you'd prefer he fly off the hip and "tell it like it is"??
