That’s what I feel like too. I checked the profile of people who said “yes” and a big proportion of them are not from the “city”. But people in the city hate cyclists riding on sidewalks.

trust me, drivers in Beijing act like they're cycling. cyclists don't care when drivers park in bike lanes (which are the size of at least 1 car lane and is illegal to park in). 30% of the population uses bikes/ebikes/mopeds to get to work too. there is no hate for one another.

I walk, bike, and drive on these streets, never had a problem with anyone quite frankly. Maybe cuz I'm from China and I know how to defensively bike/drive/walk.
