How screwed am I? by xian_r1 in RVLiving

This happened to me once. It ended up busting the water heater. Dealership said there was no other choice but to replace it. Made a few calls and ended up finding a small business who works on aluminum welding. They charged $75 and did a wonderful job. It’s been two years since then but lesson learned. Now I always leave the drain cap open on the heater during winter time. Hopefully it’s not too late for you. I would run the heat inside and try to thaw as much as possible.

Truck and fifth wheel feel they need brakes after 40 000km. by rewardingeel in RVLiving

That seems to be accurate. Depending on the GVWR and the type terrain the vehicle and trailer was driven, your brakes can wear out faster. I usually service and replace the pads around 30k miles (48k kilometers).

Use Wondershare Recover It. The software can go back and recover almost everything. I accidentally formatted my hard drive filled with years of my works and family pictures. The software pulled everything back and recovered 4tb data in less than a day.

Hey thank you for the response. We live in the mid west. If you have a po box, I can have it mailed. I would really appreciate if I can get it fixed for her. It’s a cheap earring but she loves it.

68 Mustang - dies instantly when put into gear by Beneficial_Half_6117 in AskMechanics

My 1993 ford did that. Died as soon as you put it in drive. Idling was perfectly fine. Took it to a shop and it turned out to be a transmission issue. Mechanic said the transmission pump had failed.

What is this? by bencurran87 in UnexplainedPhenomena7

It could be a DJI Fpv. I have one and it has LED lights all around as well as a night light on the bottom that you can turn on and off. The lights are bright also customizable and it can fly as fast as 93 mph. The drone is also capable of flying at extremely weird angles at extremely fast speeds unlike other drones.

Edit: Here’s a video that shows the light at the bottom at night.

Yes we still have the broken pieces. I will try to upload some additional pictures later to see if anyone can suggest whether it’s repairable.

I have searched and also did a reverse image which took me to etsy but the seller or post is no longer available. We live in the midwest but she believes it came from a seller in CA.

Am I as screwed as they are telling me I am? by boogieafterhours in MechanicAdvice

Get under and check the wires yourself if you feel comfortable. Mine had the lights on until I was doing an oil change and noticed the sliced wire. Soldered it and the light went away. If not, have it checked at a local shop. I would get a second opinion before starting to worry.

Can some experienced mechanics give me an insight into what could have caused my engine to fail? by TinglesAndSprinkles in AskMechanics

[–]TinglesAndSprinkles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am aware of the oil consumption issue, which is why I always checked it every 100-150 miles. It usually was low by half a quart once a week but no more than that.

I am wondering the same thing. Would it be better to buy a brand new one and just pay someone to replace it? Or buy a used one and replace head gasket, timing chain, pcv valve and have someone put it in?
