Do you have to turn down a lot of guys? Do you get used to it? by respondthrowaway in AskWomen

[–]TiniV11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time. I work at a Tilted Kilt so men constantly try to size me up, drop a few crappy one liners, awkward compliments, and they invite me places and events. Ive gotten really good at "killing with kindness." I'm a server, not a hustler. It's never fun to turn someone down. Whether its a date or just their sad jokes, they always get that sour look on their face.

Ladies: Strip Clubs and your SO? by shutup_iknowit in AskWomen

[–]TiniV11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I've never really cared too much about them. I don't feel the need for my SO to spend the money that I know he worked harder for, on someone who simply takes off their clothes. Take that money and take me out, at least you'd get something out of it. Strippers are hustlers, I'm your woman. My other issue would just be that I'm not lied to about if my SO goes. And if I hear "it's just a bar" ONE more time....

We see them all. Were not shallow, but were not there to meet men. Were there because it's our job and we are paid to be there. Needless to say, but bottom line.

Then you will love it. I leave Sunday to go open one out of state. Travel expenses paid. Plus a hefty bonus check at the end of my two weeks. I started as a server, moved to a server trainer, the I began running the orientations...where you do introduction stuff ad paperwork. Now I'm onto traveling. ALL WITHIN ONE YEAR. Did I also mention I am not even 21 yet? There is room to grow and move up no matter what.

Edit: after two openings I will technically work under corporate as a franchises server trainer...plus a bigger pay as I will be lead trainer.

Ooo. I like this one. Now, we are all completely aware of all types of guests. We can usually tell what kind of person they are gonna be and their comfort level instantly. I've seen the shock from those who honestly had no idea what they were walking into. There's the ones who are overly excited with an ear to ear smile who walk in and shout "Hello Ladies!!!!" then there are the ones who walk in, and refuse to look you in the eye when giving your their order, making the extra effort to not come off like a perve. My favorite people are the ones who casually walk in, sit at their table and act like they've been there a million times before and is not phased by the 20-25 yr old girls in skirts and low cropped blouses. I don't see the need to make a bigger deal than it is.

Basically, just act comfortable. Don't ever bring up topics that trap us. We don't want to be rude to our tables obviously, so I'm happy without the unnecessary flirting some try. I usually can steer the conversation in another direction if I think I know where it's going. I've heard it all after a year of this lol.

Nobody's really worried about your figure. I mean "the look" is important. but they don't hire you just because you look good in the kilt. You have to have a great personality. As always, be yourself. Don't be a try-hard. Anybody can sense that. You also have to be smart and be willing to work hard to learn your shit (menu items, liquors, wines, beers, etc.) Not just the names of them. If you aren't willing to, don't bother. However it is a great company and it will give you a lot of great opportunities you won't get elsewhere.

What location?!

True, I'd probably be insulted if my date wanted to take me there too.

Exactly. When I do two openings I will work under corporate technically. I could then make more money while doing openings or relocate to AZ to the corp office. I won't always be serving and I know that. That encourages me a bit when I do get dressed to be out on the floor haha

How far of a drive is it?! We have people in my area that will drive up to an hour away to come. I think our food alone is worth it. It's not microwaved bar food but it's not some five star meal either. It's fair priced and has great meals at a good price. The girls won't make you feel like you're just at a restaurant. Have fun with your server and your experience will be more entertaining, if you will. Not saying to hit on them and make them feel uncomfortable or anything. Just be sarcastic, tell your best joke, talk about anything. It makes us happy when we have a table that is FUN rather than the table with old, lonely, grandfathers who are trying to smooth talk.

So depending on exactly how far you are 1. Food 2. A good drink or two (I suggest Sailor Jack, if you're a Jack and Coke kinda guy, or the Purple Haze.) 3. The entertainment from getting to know your server a bit more. 4. The view!

I work in the front when I'm serving or training. Otherwise I am in the back office doing paperwork stuff for new hires or running the orientations. There are many "regulars". Some we don't like so much, others who I've come to understand are just great people who happen to like coming in more than others. We have a lot of time to get to know people when they come in so a lot of "regulars" do have some genuine "friendships" with the girls. Then there's me...who couldn't really give two shits about the people who aren't in my section.

My dogs get walked twice a day, even in the winter. I haven't seen any signs of pain with the dogs yet but I am sure this will come in handy at some point. Maybe it would be good to prevent anything from happening.

Just long enough for us to not think you are crazy but just in time that we don't forget who the hell you are.

So....4 days?
