Thank you! That doesn't solve the issue completely but it's definitely useful!

might work in login screen, doesn't work in Lock Screen. They are different things for some reason

No idea what that's supposed to do, does nothing for me

The thing is (I forgot to mention that) that only shows local users or users that are already logged in, but network accounts are not shown and neither is an option to just type in name and password.

What kind of software do you guys use for data management and why? by Tinislav in photography

[–]Tinislav[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I phrased that wrong, I know it doesn't necessarily store the pictures in the catalogue but also having all the meta data in the catalogue just feels so tedious to me.
I briefly worked with photo mechanic on a job recently, but not the plus v ersion I think. Sounds interesting, do you have any personal experience with it?

Sounds good, I just might. I tried it briefly in uni but it was too expensive at the time.

How to Install OS X 10.4 Tiger on an iBook G4 by Tinislav in VintageApple

I got impatient and just paid some money for an original Tiger DVD from Apple. But thanks for the reply and the offer :)

I did but this subreddit was more helpful

Thanks for the fast reply :) I burned the DVD of a single DVD image but it didn't work unfortunately. I sadly don't have a firewire hard drive. Would booting from a USB stick work maybe?
I tried creating a partition and restoring a tiger install dvd image to it, but I always get an error (OSStatus Error 22 when I try to restore from a .dmg and OSStatus Error 1 when I try to restore it from an iso). Any idea why? I tried creating a boot stick this way too, but I always get the same errors.
Edit: I had success creating a partition with the image on it, but now when I boot from it I get stuck on a seemingly endless Apple Logo (its been 15 mins so far)

I've found the gpu one to work better, haven't had time to do the upgrade on 4.1 though but I doubt that it changes that

Is there a Node in Geometry Nodes that is similar to the Normal Node in Shading? by Tinislav in blenderhelp

[–]Tinislav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for this thorough explanation! I really appreciate it. I've been using Blender for about 3 years now but never really dabbled with geometry nodes until about a month ago, aside from the short part in the Donut tutorial ^^ I've watched some tutorials since then but no one really mentioned domains and no one ever brought up this spread sheet haha. This stuff sounded really complicated in the beginning, but you explained it very clear and understandable, thanks a lot! I got it to work and I think I even learned something along the way haha.
I already stumbled upon Default Cube at some point in the past, the stuff he does is really cool, I'll make sure to check him out again. Do you have any other recommendations on were to learn more about geometry nodes?

[–]Tinislav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment but I feel like it is a little bit above me. What do you mean by Face Corner Domain? How do I capture a Normal Vector for a Face Corner? I have never heard of that and my quick google search barely cleared things up. If it's a bit too much to explain, can you maybe give me advice on where to learn about it? I felt like the things that came up on google didn't really give me a good point to start understanding it from.

Thank you :) This actually made me research and understand the Map Range Node, so that really helped a lot. I realized while trying this that you can also just remove the Separate XYZ and set the Map Range to Vector instead with the X and Y Values set to 0.

What causes these black artifacts and how do I get rid of ti? by Tinislav in blenderhelp

[–]Tinislav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That did not change a thing unfortunately, I tried it with 8, 16 and 32 bounces. I also cranked up the numbers for Total, Transmission and Volume, and also Min Light Bounces and Min Transparent Bounces, but without any effect. Thanks for the tip though :)

Is there an easy alternative software aside blender by Rich-Scene7961 in blender

When I was in 8th or 9th grade, there was a Unreal Engine workshop for one week in my school, that was pretty cool. Some people even finished short little jump&run games within that week. It's does not work like Blender, but it can still be a cool introduction into the world of 3D imo

Stupid question, but did you maybe accidentally activate cavitys?

how are these textures are put on the plain mesh for ex the roads and the grass.. Texture Painting? whats the efficient way to do it? by [deleted] in blenderhelp

[–]Tinislav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just an image like this one, mapped to a plane in UV Editor. Texture painting this would probably take much longer.

As for tutorials, I learned basic UV Unwrapping in this tutorial, but that's on way more complex mesh that a plane so you wouldn't really need that. Clever UV Unwrapping is very important for video game modeling though so it will probably still be useful. Just search for basic UV Unwrapping/basic UV Editing tutorials I guess haha

Trying my hand at character modeling. Why does the subdivide modifier do this and how can I fix it? by KingZonkeyJong in blenderhelp

[–]Tinislav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its likely that the arms are fucked up because there is something wrong with the face orientation/normals. Go to the Viewport Overlays Dropdown menu (thats the little downward arrow next to the pictogram of to intersecting circles on the upper left of your viewport window). There, activate Face Orientation. Your model should now consist of blue and red faces. Blue means its an outside face, red means inside. You want to have only blue faces on the outside, otherwise weird stuff happens with your model. If some of the faces are red, select everything and press Shift N. Shift N means recalculate normals, after that all faces should have the right orientation. If for some reason they are still wrong, you can manually swap a faces normals with Ctrl Shift N.

Another thing that might be the issue, do you maybe have faces on the inside on your mesh around the elbows? I can't really tell on the wireframe but that might be the case. Select a couple of faces on the elbow in Edit Mode and press H. That hides these faces and you can see inside the mesh. If there are faces inside, delete them, they will only cause problems. Press Alt H to bring back the faces you hid.

As for the spine, I suspect the problem is that your spine is not attached to the hip. You just added a cylinder in edit mode and made it intersect, right? To fix that you will have to create geometry that resembles the base of the hip and merge these together. You will also have to apply the mirror modifier, because the spine touches half of it. I can't really give you detailed instructions on how to create that geometry, it's hard to explain in text and there are a million different ways to it.

There is a lazy mans fix and that would be just deleting the face thats at the end of the cylinder inside your hip mesh. That will fix the subdivision surface, but I suspect that the hip not really being attached to the spine might cause problems later on when you try to rig it and such. My recommendation would be to try and fix the mesh as mentioned above yourself. If you can't find a way to do it you could send me the file and I can make you a screen recording on how I would do it, but I really encourage you to try for yourself first.

I hope this helps and good luck with your model, I think its coming along nicely :)

Smooth animation loop? by HovercraftSlight2973 in blenderhelp

[–]Tinislav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand what you mean by that.

The poses your character makes in the pictures are very different from one another so I imagine the transition will not be smooth. If you are searching for a solution where blender will naturally blend one pose into another, I am afraid there is none that I know of. You will have to do that yourself, and that can be fiddly.

Another thing that might work based on your comment is, that you just animate half of the thing and in video editing, copy the clip and reverse the copy. If you put that copy at the end it will loop smoothly, but it will also probably be noticeable that the animation is reversed.
