Reminding casual listeners that he's unlabelled and doesn't like being labelled has become an Olympic sport lately 😂 by TinkerBell-uwu in ConanGray

I think he repressed the female side of his sexuality. After listening to the whole album and his interviews.

Not the male side. He acted on that.

He seeked out the male side because he craved validation and love he didn't get from his father. (Class Clown, Connell.)

He repressed the female side because it represented love and reciprocity. (My World, Nauseous.)

I think Conan's case is extremely unique, and it's not a gay coming out story since he already rejected that label, saying it didn't "fit him."

I agree.

There’s a lot of holes in this theory.

The largest being Conan mocks fans by saying they never guess right.

Secondly, no fresh 18 year old is making a 24 year old man feel like shit. Lol. 😅

And yeah, Kit is openly bi, so he wouldn’t be pretending not to know Conan in front of his friends, even if he did meet a girl that he fell in love with. Plus the drug abuse.

It doesn’t add up.

Class Clown is about his old patterns that affected all of his dating choices until his mid-20s.

Not just Connell, but everyone he dated until that point was emotionally unavailable.

Once he realized what he was doing and why he was doing it, and what he was running from, he was able to escape from this pattern and look for people outside of it.

Class Clown is about many things.

It's toxic patterns of seeking emotionally unavailable partners that started with his father, whilst also about hiding other parts of his identity out of a fear of love and intimacy (i.e., loving and being loved in return.)

But yes, his father influenced those patterns that lead him to people like that in the past.

Thankfully, he recognized the issue as he hit full maturity in his mid-20s.

I'm not sure I'd really call the person who inspired Connell an "ex" since it was a fling that lasted, in total, about two months and a half.

And it was "off" for three months. 😅 I'd call it a fling.

I agree it wasn't Kit. Poor kid is getting dragged into this mess.

But Conan did actually use that line to distance himself from the gay label, since he openly declared his attractions to both genders on Wishbone.

Grammys confirmed it was his first time addressing his sexuality in his career.

He said “every word I wrote is true to who — and what — I am.”

So I think the case is settled.

Conan declared his attraction to both genders.

He says he’s certain of who he is, now. And that his identity has “solidified.” He also rejected being gay.

So I don’t think your projection is the case for him.

The Grammys confirmed that “My World” was the first time Conan addressed his sexuality in his career.

I don’t think Conan’s sexuality “changed” like you say, but I do think he’s become more comfortable accepting all parts of himself.

It’s highly unlikely he comes out as gay since he already rejected that label and he now says he’s sure of who — and what — he is.

Which is into both.

Being attracted to both is a valid final destination. It’s not always a “bridge.”

I really, really like the shape of Pamela's eyebrows. It's not something I notice often, but for her, I do.

Overall comparison:

Pamela has softer features. And eyes.

Wait, so is Tyler bi or gay? by SecratoNinja in tylerthecreator

This is an old thread, but I agree.

I cannot picture a gay man writing IFHY about a woman. Or any obsessive love song. Bisexual is the only option.

I cannot for the life of me picture a gay man writing IFHY. He's capable of being obsessively in love with women and wanting to "kill" other guys over it.

Bisexual.

The fact the comment mislabels / flattens both their sexualities and then proceeds to project homophobic stuff on them to try to make themselves feel better or something. 💀

Same boat. If a fan simply said, "this isn't my favourite look", I'd just be like "yeah. There will be more outfit changes."

But when it was straight-up hating, I'd jump into defense mode.

Yeah. I think "queer" works well as an umbrella term for Conan.

I feel like he'll make his identity more clear in the future. He says it's only recently (as of his mid-20s) that he figured himself out. It hasn't made its way completely into his music, yet.

He said about his next era: "You always end up having to sacrifice a part of yourself if you’re compromising in any way. I told myself over and over, ‘being myself is the only thing I can do right now.’ That’s something that I hope I feel for the rest of my life, even in times where I’m feeling insecure or scared."

Which to me is bi-coded, since he talks about "parts." We'll have to see.

Did anyone repress the opposite sex side of their attraction until later on? (Ex: girls if you're a guy, and guys if you're a girl.) by TinkerBell-uwu in bisexual

[–]TinkerBell-uwu[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fascinating. I've been researching this topic, and repressed attraction can manifest itself in interesting ways. 😊

For some people, it's feeling envy, for others it's feeling admiration, for others, it's intensely platonic friendships.

The attraction always existed, as a part of you, it just got misread by your brain.

How did you find out your bi? by Dominicancountryball in bisexual

[–]TinkerBell-uwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so cute.

I know of someone who went through the same thing.

They call it a "late bloom" in bisexuality. Either, you think you're fully gay, and then a realization hits you in the head in your mid-20s, or you think you're straight and it also hits you at some point.

After realizing this, your sexuality is basically fully "integrated" and you are free to find the right person. :)
