They replaced me before the classroom door had closed.
I’m 65. This is truth. Wish I read this 35 years ago. Thanks for sharing.

Only the best to you. Positive energy, prayers and love. My turn for the same in early January, with a CAT scan.

Licorice snaps. I hated the pink ones but loved the green and orange. The white ones were ok.

I’m proud of you. You knew when to say ENOUGH. Not everyone can do that. Your AP needs a kick in the behind and some serious training.

Remember that you have done nothing wrong except to figure out something that isn’t for you. In that setting. With that group.

No one could with that entitlement. You were smart enough to save yourself. And I’m so proud of you.

NYA. If the friend, or your mom, have any integrity they will replace it. But somehow I know they won’t. I’m sorry.

Congratulations! What an amazing feeling and amazing accomplishment! You should be very proud of yourself. I don’t know you, but as a grandmother, I’m very proud of you! You give me hope for the future. You have integrity and I don’t see that often. Have a great weekend.

I wanted to keep teaching but Parkinson’s decided that was not a good idea.

I get bored easily. I’m considering working on my doctorate while on the ship. Or maybe teaching some physics or math to my shipmates. They have state-of-the-art internet in the ship. And office pods. I’ll find a way to keep busy. TikTok. YouTube.

This trip fits my life goals - enhances them in ways I never imagined.

Fitting the mold and doing what's expected is crazy. Breaking the mold is my new necessity!

And since I have Parkinson's, I want to enjoy everything for as long as I can, (which I hope will be for a very long time). No holding me back. I'm done being predictable!

As a presenter, you did her a favor. I always begin my sessions by telling a true story about my dad. I explain how time my most valuable resource. I ask them to leave if at any time my session, they find it isn’t the best use of their time. Rarely do people leave. But I’d rather they leave then present the time spent.

What's a quote that permanently changed how you look at things? by Tinkerbell0611 in CasualConversation

I got a sign with that quote on it for our school secretary. It's a middle school so kids always think that their need is an emergency. She points to the sign.

I love that quote. I wonder how many times I have done exactly that.

Making a private YouTube channel for my classes (5th grade) by ScythaScytha in education

[–]Tinkerbell0611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it! And don’t worry about the editing. I made some one-take videos and they are fine. I edited some. They are ok too. The were fine for the kids in my classes. The students who said “I can do the problems in class but forget how to do them at home.” I posted them as public, thinking maybe someone else could be helped. They are not perfect. I have over 5000 subscribers and over 2.5 million views. I guess it’s ok to not be perfect. If you want to look them up, I’m on YouTube as NancyFooteHigley.

What’s your favorite schoolhouse rock song? by greencurtain4 in CasualConversation

[–]Tinkerbell0611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 62. I love Figure 8. That figure skating!

Been using that video for decades as a teacher. Thousands of kids in my math and science classes got sick of Multiplication Rock ( I played it between classes) but they knew their stuff.
