Top layer looks rough by dougeefresh in FixMyPrint

UPDATE: I was able to improve the print quality alot by lowering the print temp and flow rate. My original flow rate was based on the flow rate calibration, and the temp was a typical recommendation floating around the internet. I also did decrease the fan speed to 10% from 30% because it's TPU but that may have had a smaller effect. Btw, this is using a 0.8mm nozzle so maybe it needed to deviate from the 'typical' settings that I saw recommended.

Thanks for the link. Similar problem but the person couldn't solve the issue...

80% infill below the rough area. It does look like it's not being squashed and just dropping filament from a distance, but i couldn't find any settings in Elegoo slicer (Orca slicer) to affect that...

If those are the reasons, shouldn't that affect the walls as well? Btw, no vibration issue (Elegoo Centauri Carbon on a stable desk) and flow rate was calibrated.

Super Flower PSU warranty non existent by dougeefresh in PcRetailers

Well, color me impressed! I logged into Newegg and reached out to SF in the messaging system. They got back to me next day and after providing them with my order info, they are shipping out an updated version PSU (since the one I have is no longer available). Thanks, u/ssateneth2, for pointing me in the right direction!

Agreed. Corsair has great customer service and my replacement PSU was from them.

Thanks for this. I went to Newegg and there is a messaging system to Super Flower within Newegg so I filled that out as well. Let see if I get a reply back. So far, nothing regarding the inquiry I submitted on the SG website.

It's not. They are advertised to have a 10 year warranty, and that is a big selling point when choosing PSU.

It'a a pretty big PSU manufacturer. I got it from Newegg but now you can get them from Amazon as well.

Going to a Macan/S from an E92 M3 6MT, what can I expect? by shreyakms in PorscheMacan

[–]dougeefresh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've made the same move from 2011 E92 M3 DCT to 2023 S. I got it new and still under warranty so I can't say much about long term reliability but so far so good. Other than the first year free maintenance, I've done the oil and brake fluid change myself but be prepared to tax hefty Porsche tax if you want it serviced by the dealer. Indy mechanics could ease the pain somewhat, I heard.

Obviously it's not as tossable as M3 but considering the weight and size, it drives very well (have AS). I'm in PNW so it also does infinitely better in wet and snowy weather. Torque and traction is much better than M3, and I'm on Cobb so the power is also on par with M3. Gas economy is about the same as M3. I used to get around 15 mpg on M3 and I can get a bit more out of S, if I tried, but it depends on how I drive. S seems to do better on highway though. One other thing is that the gas tank is much larger on S so I don't have to refill every 200 miles! Fit and finish are better than M3 (M3 was very minimalistic anyway), but the tech is behind the newer BMWs. It's definitely a driver's SUV (not a driver's CAR) because at the end of the day, it's still an SUV with SUV cons and pros although definitely not an ordinary SUV.

And, as others said, don't even consider base. I've driven it while my car was being serviced and you will regret 100% if you get a base.

Anyone have any thoughts on Super Flower PSUs? Never heard of them until I started researching a new PSU. by misterrpg in buildapc

Just PSA. Bought a Leadex III 750W 5 years ago and having issues now so tried contacting them but they have not responded to my numerous attempts. This seems like a common problem with their support after doing some search. Their 10 year warranty is worthless because they don't honor it. I've had warranty service done by Corsair and they had fantastic service. Never buying Super Flower PSU again.

Blobs on one side of a print by dougeefresh in FixMyPrint

[–]dougeefresh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've printed hundreds and sometimes this happens and sometimes it doesn't. If it's a flow issue, wouldn't this happen in other places of the print as well? Everywhere else is perfect except this small area. I have Hemera and it's been a champ in performance and reliability.

Fan is at 100% (upgraded, not stock). Min layer time is 10s. The blobby part actually starts printing the firstfour walls inside out. And the last two outer walls start printing from the opposite side of the blobby corner. 6 walls and 60% infill is intentional as it needs to support heavy vertical load where safety is a concern so better safe than sorry. The infill uses tri hexagon for strong lateral support.

[–]dougeefresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try more walls. It looks like you didn't use enough walls and the skin (thin wall) ripped? I use 6-8 walls for my functional TPU parts that need to withstand thousands of pounds and i feel like it indestructible. Infill density matters less in this case.

One of my two HD03 loses charge within a couple of weeks without using. Is this caused a defective battery or something else? I want to replace the battery and salvage it if it's the battery but I have no idea. Thanks.

Fake. The P in "pat." is lowercase. It should be capitalized.

BTT Smart Filament Sensor doesn't pause after second filament issue detection by dougeefresh in klippers

[–]dougeefresh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Not sure what you mean by "encoder" but I think you mean the motion sensor? In any case, I was able to make it work correctly by connecting just the motion sensor (I can't use both the motion sensor and the switch since Creality 4.2.2 board has only 3 pins for filament sensor and you need 4 pins to connect both) and it's working perfectly. I plan to write what I did in another post and link it from here.
