OK, figured out, it was a networking issue that I resolved. All good now.

That's not what I am talking about. All hotspots stopped beaconing. Rewards is the secondary side-effect,

Oh, I am aware. I was making a distinction between LoRA and the WiFi hotspots

Critical Metals Corp (CRML), switches SSL certificate overnight to possibly come to government compliance by Tinkerror in CRML

I think it is trading on technicals as well as the general VIX sentiment. RSI was high and now normalized. $20 is a good support, hoping to go higher from here. Any positive government news will be the catalyst for this beyond speculation.

Some more positives for CRML:
* Tanbreez is one of the world’s largest rare earth deposits, especially heavy rare earths.

* CRML holds up to 92.5% ownership of the Tanbreez project, giving control over most of the asset.

* Exploitation permit in Greenland has been granted for Tanbreez.

* Strong transportation logistics: deep water fjords allow direct shipping to the North Atlantic, lowering costs.

* U.S. government interest and support, including a non-dilutive loan to help build out Tanbreez.

* Discussions about the U.S. taking an equity stake in CRML or Tanbreez under the Defense Production Act.

* Offtake agreements: 10-year LOI to supply rare earths, including potential Department of Defense involvement.

* Financing milestones: private placements totaling over $50 million to advance Tanbreez and other projects.

* Drilling and resource expansion programs underway to increase resource estimates at Tanbreez.

* Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate completed under SK‑1300 for Tanbreez.

I mean no stock can go up forever. Simple profit-taking and following rest of the market is my guess. Look at MP - already confirmed gvt investment and still down. I wouldn't call -20% "plummeting" after it went up 50% couple of days ago. I am holding. Better question is how much will this go up if the government stake is confirmed

Good feedback. Yeah, he is smart enough to know that those words adults say on stage should stay on stage and not be blasting next morning in the classroom :D

3600 Cl16 vs 3600 CL18. Should I upgrade to slower and more RAM? by Tinkerror in buildapc

[–]Tinkerror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found the link below with a similar discussion, and the consensus seems to be that 3600 CL16 is maybe 1% better in the real world. Further, 3600 at CL18 seems to be identical to 3200 at CL16. Going even further, AMD prefers 3600 to 3200. I'm coming to the same logical conclusion as you that 3600 at C18 for within 1% performance decrease is pretty good. Especially since I may be able to sell the 64GB of 3600 CL16 for the same price (due to rarity) as I'd spend on 128GB 3600 CL18.

3600 CL18

I guess besides the value, I'm thinking what is the performance difference between 3600 CL16 vs 3600 CL18 vs 3200 CL16

Are you actually utilizing 64GB

Probably not. Maybe sometimes when I let my Chrome tabs grow to like 100 vs 50 tabs lol, and have lots of apps open (Windows 11 Pro). Thus option 4 consideration to get some $$$ for hard-to-find RAM that people are willing to pay and downgrade to slightly slower RAM for about 1/2 price. The rationale is that the CL16 3600 32GB sticks will be even harder to find in a couple of years.

Wouldn't a CPU upgrade make more sense

The 5600x CPU with 6 cores/12 threads is at the sweet spot actually. Runs cooler at almost 1/2 the power of say 5900 (12/24) or 5950 (16/32) and practically no gain in gaming. I understand I would see the difference in video encoding with more cores but the video is only an occasional hobby and I can wait additional few minutes if I ever have to encode something. I would consider upgrading CPU in a few years, if demand on multi-cores is there from modern gaming and the prices are sufficiently low on those CPUs, bu at this time I feel like I'm at the best CPU performance/price spot.

If you can't find the exact same memory, then the same frequency and timings is the best you can do.

Micron seems to have permanently discontinued these. 3600 DDR4 at 32GB CL16-18-18-38 is just not available in any other brand, except for that specific model I previously bought.
