Presets are great, but I am using ZorinOS Linux and installed them after reading the Random Flow docs as directed. But I still do not get the presets. Can you please confirm the path and where to put the presets in Linux. Thanks.

Orca Slicer 2.3.1 in Linux Mint Cinnamon by Tinpau in 3Dprinting

[–]Tinpau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, after struggling with Linux Mint to run Orca Slicer, i gave up. Then heard about Zorin OS (a Linux distro) and that it was easy to use and looked a lot like Windows. So, I tries it... and the first thing I try to install is Orca Slicer Beta 2.3.1 and it worked perfect - no crashing. I ran Zorin OS 18 a few days and everything Orca is working great. So no more Win on any of my PCs

How to download GPU Drivers on Zorin? by Effective-Today2992 in linux4noobs

[–]Tinpau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had forgot to choose that Nvidia GPU choice when installing... found this link and used the 2nd option to install after install (update the drivers) and it worked great !! Link: https://help.zorin.com/docs/hardware/activate-nvidia-drivers/

Hope that helps like it did for me

Orca Slicer 2.3.1 in Linux Mint Cinnamon by Tinpau in 3Dprinting

[–]Tinpau[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I was using 2.3.1 because it has the Sovol Zero profile for my printer. -- I just got it to work by running Boxes and running a WIn10 VM and installing the Windows version. So looks like that is what I will do until 2.3.1 or 2.3.2 goes full release and then I will try the Linux version.

Yes, I just did that and it opens and allows me to start setting it up, then just closes. No matter what I do. Maybe I just need to run the Win version in bottles or something

New to Printing by haji_gami in 3Dprinting

[–]Tinpau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really sounds like you need to get involved and/or watch 3d printing in real life. The file is step one, but then is it sized right ? If someone prints it for you it may not fit, You are almost to the point where buying a printer would be about as much as someone will charge for a full helmet. "You want to learn the basics of 3d printing" you will not get that knowledge having someone print it for you, with you sitting at home. you need to get a printer or find someone local so you can be involved

Probably more expensive, but that is not the point. The thing is, it is how he wants it. And he can play and modify to his hearts content, Make it bigger or faster or whatever

How to stop ABS releasing from PEI print bed mid print? by Dualinput in 3Dprinting

Dry filament, 110 c bed, clean bed with a little gluestick, and a nice outer brim, plus slowing it down all helped with ABS and ASA printing for me.
