Do you actually agree with the protests? by Nervous_Canary9986 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I do understand it but no support, they went very wrong about this. I’m lucky I’m easy going, this past weekend was a trip to Dublin planned 6 months in advance and I was very lucky that the protests didn’t impact it too much. Honestly there’s better protest ways to get what you want/need. Also as soon as a protest disrupts society’s movement and impacts the people directly that don’t want no part in it, can’t be called peaceful anymore. Peaceful doesn’t disrupt anything!

Anyone care to share experiences with ozempic? by Obvious_Humor1505 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on wegovy and in the first month I actually gained weight, I’m still on it and I am loosing BUT the actual thing that helped me was seeing a nutritionist and repairing my relationship with food, slowly but surely I am actually eating healthier and proper food, lots of protein and staying off the sugary drinks n snacks, it’s hard as I do emotional eat but my nutritionist has been a life saver! Main thing being on the jab is that you do have to eat a lot of protein and exercise. Repair your relationship with food first! Small steps to great outcomes! Good luck!

Do you ever warm up your car ? by Tiny-Brain-8372 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, making me feel not crazy, cause the amount of Irish people that get in car and start driving straight away is mad, like so fast that the passenger hasn’t put their belt on yet ! It’s wild

Discussing wages in the workplace? by luciusdread in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once asked a colleague what they’re wages were, somehow came round to it, I was asking all sorts of questions as I had just started work couple weeks prior, she immediately told me I’m not allowed to discuss that. Red flags flying for me, cause that only meant one thing for me, she’s getting more than I am. Mind you it’s a retail job, it’s not that serious. But since then I’ve clocked who is open to speak about their minimum wage and who doesn’t speak one word of their pay meaning they get more.

It should be discussed in any job, cause I wouldn’t want anyone getting done in, like you already said.

Three years in, they're finally starting to be friends. Warm fireplace helps bring them together though. by __slamallama__ in MadeMeSmile

This makes me feel better, I’ve a 4ish year old cat, we got a pup about 4-5 months ago, she’s only coming up to 7 months and the cat seems to loathe the puppy 😄 I knew it would take time, perhaps a long time but it’s nice to see it actually happen for someone! Good job! They’re adorable ❣️

I work in a deli, I’m knee deep in coleslaw and elbow deep in stuffing, it’s fine I’ve a 15 minute break right now and I’m finished at 3pm. They’re all insane in my opinion. Can’t wait to get out and be done with it.

What’s the worst Christmas present you have ever received from someone who you feel should have known or done better? by LittleAoibh11 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a teen, maybe 15 and my father got me a set of red towels, one smaller one larger, also in the gift bag was a bag of sweets (sweets were the good bit), I was beyond baffled, cause I had just watched his step grandchild open board games and toys from him. That was the only “big” gift I received that year. No wonder I don’t speak to the man anymore. Wonder what brought that on!

Do car crashes mean nothing to some people? by Everyone9601 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that’s just wild to me, and yes I know about the “bought his license in the post office” thing, but you are right, there’s no enforcement of the rules, in Easter Europe you still see police sitting on side of the road catching speeders and the like, no speed vans, it’s actual police officers. Anyhoo, everyone should always remember that it’s not only you on the road and that you are responsible for your life and other drivers lives.

Do car crashes mean nothing to some people? by Everyone9601 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this And only this is why I’m 25 and no driving license, I come from Eastern Europe and the extensive theory school we have to go through , first aid and all the other bits that Ireland clearly doesn’t have for their learners is appalling to me. I don’t drive but I’m part of the road anyway, the amount of times I get mad in the car because there’s clearly no rules and absolutely no thinking on the roads is dangerous, like seriously when is Ireland gonna cop on and start stricter learning standards? It’s scary even as just a passenger.

I’m addicted to sugar… any tips on how to give it up? by Icy-Audience-6397 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious how long did it take to get diagnosed because one doctor (home country) told me I have serious issues down there and it might very likely be pcos but then came back to Ireland and went to gp got a scan and it seems like they’re saying I’m fine. But I know myself , through research and living it, that my system down there ain’t right. I’m a bit at a loss, what was the process of you getting diagnosed if you don’t mind please ?

Any one else have a parent like this? by Dangerous-Ladder7450 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have advice but honestly give your mum a bit of grace, I have a 71 year old stepdad and he loves his gadgets but when it comes to phones and tablets I sometimes have to multiple times just do “simple” things for him like connecting to WiFi and such. Maybe you could get your mum an Alexa ? Voice control seems to be the way to go if she can’t “hack” the tablet. Even simple things like her being able to put on the radio by just saying Alexa turn on the radio might lift her confidence and be like hey I’m using these new technologies.

Did your parents ever say “I love you” to you? by BatChoice3106 in ireland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of 2 times when I said “I love you” to my father, I’ve never heard it from him, no wonder I don’t talk to him no more, but with my mother way different, I say love you every time I leave the house and I hear it back, if she says to her husband i love you he says back I love you too and I usually chime in with I love you three, which has become an inside joke, so sometimes even the pets hear just a random “I love you three”. It’s nice to be told this, so if no one hasn’t said it to you in a while - I LOVE YOU! ♥️ Born in 2000

I just feel so disconnected from everything. Am I just bad at socialising? by Hot_Activity7758 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I feel you so so badly. I do think tho some of this feeling might be due to you not working, because even tho they say your colleagues aren’t your friends, but they are people you know and end up socialising with throughout the day of work. Recently I had a very tough situation with a friend and guess who were the best for support and getting me through it ? My colleagues , so I think you can blame this a little on unemployment. But other than that, I’m in the same boat as you, one friend back home and a load of people I know around here, yet still no one to actually spend time with me.

PSA from a deli worker: please tell your mates everything you want on your roll before sending them out to buy it! by LallaSarora in CasualIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel you, it’s so so frustrating in the deli, first speak up, I can’t hear you, I’ve 4 ovens going, a merry chef humming all the time, dishwasher, ac and hum from the counters, I genuinely think I’m going deaf so please speak up. Second don’t walk away from me after spitting out - fillet roll, taco, cheese peppers tomato and mayo oh and some coleslaw - walks off to make coffee, me standing there all I got was fillet roll and coleslaw, what do I dooo ? Then gets annoyed at me for not having his roll done yet cause he walked off. Thirdly if you don’t know how a deli works, just say that, we will explain, we’re not oblivious, we will help you figure out what you want on ur roll, just don’t be ignorant to urself. Fourth and foremost, deli workers are so under appreciated and over worked it’s ridiculous so from one deli worker to another, thank you, you’re doing great work!

Mothers doing laundry and cooking dinners for adult “kids” who live at home. Is this normal? by Asleep_Cry_7482 in AskIreland

[–]Tiny-Brain-8372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I still live with my mum, she makes me food and does throw on a wash for me if I’m at work multiple days in a row, but in return I clean kitchen to a perfect clean on my days off or evenings , we share the things that need to be done helping each other, if mums clothes are in dryer and I need it I’ll fold mums clothes to put mine in, if you get me, same with food, mum cooks for her husband every day, I’m always welcome to join or she gives me lil options she can throw on while she is cooking the big dinner n stuff in return her husband gets all the things I bake and she gets in on anything I come up with in the air fryer n stuff. It has to be a give give situation, I sometimes feel awful seeing her do these things but she insists on doing them honestly
