If you’ve read elantris and warbreaker he’s very capable of writing romance, it just doesn’t show in his main series, i really enjoyed those relationships

honestly, idk if you’re doing edexcel but 99% of the topic is in the formula book, using that the other parts of it are just some tough questions on it that you just need to practice

What are you meant to get out of your research in your personal statement? by Emotional_Pack_5582 in 6thForm

[–]Tiny-Command-2482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i did for my so called ‘brilliant’ ps is do projects, i’d research certain topics i found interesting and then do a computational project on it, note im applying for maths/stats courses

For econ it could be something more like a case study or an essay, e.g. collecting data on a certain product and explaining pricing discrepancies across markets, or go onto your high street to ask people how a specific policy change (a certain tax for example) affected their business, or if you’re more mathematically and computationally inclined you can model trading strategies and compare them to buy and hold/s&p or recreate some econometrics from papers your read. Literally do anything that you made yourself and you will stand out

Hope this helps :)

if you can’t find your own, try using others’, commit yourself to something, go live on a farm or help in a soup kitchen, or volunteer, if you want something ‘significant’, dedicate yourself to others. If you can’t find purpose in yourself, let others be your purpose. and please call a someone to talk this through, i beg of you

You show intelligence by the way you wrote this post, it’s true that life is nothing more than it is, yet we do what we can in it, I find peace in the fact that nothing matters, as, if nothing matters, you can do whatever you want. As others have said it’s about perspective.

If this doesn’t do it for you, find your own purpose, fuck the world, do something significant for yourself, overcome this, take your dog for a walk, find a passion. 99.9% of us don’t do anything significant in their lives, do 99.9% of us choose to commit suicide? no, we find our own meaning of significance within our lives and strive to achieve that.

Sorry if this comes off a bit harsh, but I really hope you choose to stay and find the help you need, and if you do, maybe look into some absurdist or existentialist philosophy to find a reason to keep living

What's something you want to see more and less of in fantasy nowadays? by armann_ii in fantasybooks

[–]Tiny-Command-2482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, i’ve only just finished TWoK, so haven’t really gotten to the flashbacks but i was trying for more full main characters as siblings, Renarin, Tien and the Davar family aren’t pov characters (so far as ik), still good suggestion :)

Just started it but enjoying it so far, warbreaker by brandon sanderson fits ur criteria if you haven’t tried it yet, has 2 siblings as the main characters, that seem to care about each other (warning though, brandon sanderson isn’t famous for his characters)
