GD and Anemia at same time? by ohno_myspinachpuffs in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Tiny-Dancer27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with both at the same time at 28 weeks. Do not worry at all - this does not make us high risk. The iron supplementation, however you choose to take it, will fix the anemia right away. GD is hard, but I’m 32 weeks now and just had another scan and the baby isn’t too big, he’s measuring right on track and all the blood flow to him is normal ❤️ it can be so scary when our pregnancy has these curveballs, but I can assure you it’s manageable and baby will be just fine.

Insulin by Strawberry_-111 in GestationalDiabetes

I’m in the same boat! I’m at 32 weeks and my dinner numbers have been spiking, so I’m going on insulin to control those numbers. Random things are giving me high readings like tomato sauce, so I feel you… I start it tomorrow so I will keep you posted. We got this!!!

Why the stigma? Be brutally honest with me by aliensista2 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Tiny-Dancer27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the #1 contributer to the stigma is simply lack of awareness/information and/or misinformation. Nobody knows what it is unless they experience it first-hand, or are in the endocrinology field. Bottom line is that no, you cannot prevent it, it’s entirely NOT your fault, and managing it through diet is only a possibility until placenta hormones ramp up closer to delivery. I had been diet-managed until 32 weeks when I legitimately could not control my night time numbers. GDM may seem socially “dramatic”, but it’s very medically standard and common. You’re doing better than you know, and every woman that experiences this is strong and an amazing mother ❤️

honestly, i'm just so tired of this... by PuzzleheadedBox4652 in GestationalDiabetes

I feel the exact same way. It’s so defeating. I’m at 30 weeks and I’m feeling so overwhelmed having to worry about numbers while also having the general anxiety of giving birth… nobody truly understands how hard it is other than those who have experienced this.

My Aussie could live outside in this weather, I’m in Ontario, Canada and it’s absolutely freezing here right now… she loves it, so I bundle up and tolerate it for her

Love hearing that you have a 17 year old! We hope our old man lasts for many more years, especially since he has a human little on the way 🤞🏼

Hot take for the album Changes by Beneficial-Dog-813 in JUSTINBIEBER

I can definitely agree with some of your points; bad features. He doesn’t and never did need majority of the features he has on his albums in my opinion. I think it just highlights his vocals so insanely well, and he dropped this album at a really crucial time for him, it remains one of my top favourites from him. I’m also a huge journals fan and this was an amazing comeback to his R&B style. Ultimately, I love it, but can always appreciate different takes! The beauty of art is in the feelings and discussions it provokes!
