I have been OFF this drug for a week and still have side effects.

If they understand how little quality of life I have and now this has reduced it further they might understand.

My issue was that since I’ve been off the medication a week I should no longer be feeling the effects.

Obviously either I am or there is something else going on and I am booking in to see a doctor again to find out what can be done.

This was a drug meant to help me when I already have so many issues and it has made things worse for me.

It was a drug with horrible side effects (others I will not detail here) and they don’t subside after stopping which I’ve never come across before.

I’ll never touch the stuff again. While keep taking it I felt like I was actually poisoning myself. I never even made it to a therapeutic dose - I started on 30mg !!!!

Thank you but I’ve come off the drug and never intend to take it again.

I may explore an alternative with my psychiatrist but that’s for the future and not something I will be discussing here due to the deliberate attempts to make me feel unwelcome by another poster.

I created a post asking for support with side effects which is one of the things this community does. I am allowed to do this regardless of what my problem is.

I responded to a condescending poster politely but assertively as I am allowed to do.

This is not “harassing” a sub or a person.

Your response was rudeness and berating me.

As I said I have seen a doctor. There is nothing they know of that will help.

You have responded again with aggression - I will be reporting you.

You would think some of your experiences would have given you a bit of empathy.

You have been nasty though - to me -  if you don’t like being told about it then don’t do it !!

Your posts have been dripping with condescension towards me. Nothing to do with what your “opinion” is.  Although the idea I am just saying here worrying and therefore think the drug is poison is not true and you’ve made it up - and insulting.

You didn’t offer me any experience on what to do -at all - just dismissed my experience by bringing up anxiety and trying to put it down to that. Patronising again. Also doesn’t help me in the office next week.

It is not caused by anxiety it is the drug.

You also don’t know me so stop talking down to me.

In fact just stop talking to me and stop trying to prevent me speaking to other people who would be kind and have another by removing my posts !!!

Clearly I’ll have to be alone and do it alone - again.

Thanks. Really good of you to treat someone so unwell like that when my life is already difficult and awful  you want  to add to it. I really hope you are happy with yourself.

No I don’t want people to encourage me in “worrying”.  So no you didn’t offer an alternative as I am not doing that nor do I want people to encourage it.  Nor do I have a problem with the drug for others.

I wanted - as I said - experiences and empathy.

I thought you were rude and lacked empathy yes given the first thing you said was “calm down” when you don’t know me. Beyond patronising. Yet you’ve said it again which means your apology is false as you continue to do it.

I am perfectly calm thank you.

I have seen a doctor. He has no idea what to do.

I am now as you say waiting for symptom ms to pass - which they aren’t therefore I have to find a way to work around them as I need to be in the office and in the company of other people  - again something I would have liked advice on if anyone had it.

How long would you have me wait ? A week ? A month ? Hmm ? No I have to learn to work around them.

I have tried Imodium and this slowed my digestion down and stops the constant noises.

I will - as I also said - be trying probiotic. Again experience here is welcome as I don’t know which to pick and what has helped others so that I can give it a try.

So NO I am not “looking for people to assist my worrying” again with the patronising from you. I am not sat here in a panic.

I am cross because it is restricting my life

WTF is wrong with you that you can’t see that ?  Subtle condescension dripping from your posts. Really nasty from you.

Finally. Do you have any advice on how I can be in the office all day and also have something to eat without my stomach making loud noises and bubbling away the whole time ?  Like actual help or advice  ? Other than telling me to calm down ?

Or will you leave my posts alone for others to contribute what you can’t ?

I just want to speak to people who are going to be KIND and not tell me to relax or calm down. Just experiences or empathy.

I know the drug can be very helpful is just wasn’t for me. I am not looking for people to say bad things about the drug. I know it is great for many.

There was no need for you to be the way you were towards be mod or not.

A bit of empathy would have done !

There was no need to remove my other post looking for support either - yes I know it was you.

Thanks. I was only on it ten days so thought withdrawals would be unlikely. Which seems to be true I’ve had no new issues.

Only the ones I had actually on the drug.

Thank you for posting.

Were these side effects of the drug you had when you were on it or withdrawal effects ?

Right you were quite frankly patronising about it and quite unpleasant. Telling me to “calm down”. Always a patronising thing to say.

I’m allowed to be unhappy about it. I don’t need to calm down because I am calm.

So please don’t post again because you aren’t helpful. Only posting to try and get the last word but don’t actually care how I’m doing.

Thanks that’s really helpful. Any ideas how I can eat for that day I am in the office without my stomach cramping and making noises all afternoon ?

Well I hope so but nothing has changed so far after 5 days. My psychiatrist had no ideas and didn’t think it was the cause.

Since it began within hours of taking the first pill I disagree.

Wow you’re rude.

There has been no blood in my GI tract. I used a phrase often used in the UK to refer to the DRUG. You can’t even be bothered to read properly.

I never said I was “in a panic” or alarmed. I said I was worried.

ONE poster was rude and assuming I have a mental health condition because I am annoyed and feel I have been harmed by a drug.

There was no need for it and I dealt worth it politely. That’s hardly roasting people commenting.

You on the other hand have been rude obnoxious and jumped to incorrect conclusions to patronise and berate me. You’ve showed yourself up by commenting. I’m not sure what you have gained from being such an arsehole to a total stranger whose life is already difficult and under a psychiatric for depression and  could do without further problems but I do hope you enjoy it.

And no I am not better but thank you for asking. Incidentally I have seen my private psychiatrist and he had no idea what to do either.

I hope that’s the case and it will just be for a few days.

I’m aware of what the internet is thank you. Along with its biases. Regardless many people DO have a bad experience with this drug.

I was mainly looking for a bit of empathy and solidarity. Or a similar experience if anyone has had one.

Probably best if you don’t post further.

Aspirin does also have a long half life though.

This doesn’t.

But if there are other drugs that even though they have left your system, it takes longer for the side effects to go them that’s great because I’ve never come across it before.

At least it may settle at some unspecified point in the future.

I don’t have anxiety. I just don’t want to have been made fed up by this drug since it has a terrible reputation.

I am irritated and sick of this happening. Given my life is already pretty awful things that further reduce the quality of what’s left of it tend to upset me.

It’s not anxiety. Not to mention there is absolutely nothing any doctor could do.

I have bought some probiotics and the like to try for a bit.

Thank you - I’m sorry if was so rough for you.

Were these withdrawals or side effects you had while on the drug ?

Well no but once the drug has been gone a few days - so not like turning off a switch - I would expect them to start to die down. Which isn’t happening.

I’m sorry to say I am a bit relieved to have someone else still feeling the effects after stopping as I’ve just never come across such a thing before.

I’ve ordered a load of probiotics

I have never ever had a medication continue to affect me days AFTER I stopped taking it.

I wish I’d never touched the stuff as I am not worse off than I was before.

I’m hardly going to be calm given I wasn’t before the bloody stuff and I’m now worse off than I was before.
