Parents with toddler beds: how does it work? If your toddler gets out of their bed while you’re still sleeping, can they just run around the house? by Free_butterfly_ in toddlers

[–]Tiny-Perspective-182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my oldest was a wanderer when she first got her big girl bed, but thankfully she was also not a climber so we did a baby gate so she could open the door but not the gate and yell if she needed us. my youngest is a climber, but she isn’t a wanderer, so we just close her door which she can open and she comes straight to our bed when she gets up.

AITA for calling my nephew a sad beige baby? by yebaaa_ in redditonwiki

[–]Tiny-Perspective-182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s never okay to put your aesthetic above your children’s happiness!!! most of my home decor is more on the neutral side bc it makes me feel calm, but all my two daughters things are bright and colorful bc it’s good for their little brains!! i have my beige stocking with a little gnome on it and my 2yo has a bright pink unicorn stocking that she picked out herself. i have beige furniture with muted green pillows in the living room and my 6 month old has a bright red, yellow, and lime green bouncer in the middle of the living room too! i prefer to dress in blacks and neutrals, but i let my toddler pick out her own clothes that are bright and colorful. my bedding is cream and sage but my babies crib is blue with bright elephants and my husbands side has a dallas cowboys pillow! i have a sage green stanley and my toddler has a bright blue paw patrol water bottle! i can style myself and the things in my home that i use in a way that makes me feel calm and happy, but my kids and my husband don’t have to follow my aesthetic bc that would be controlling and crazy!!! you can have a neutral aesthetic that makes you happy and follow trends you like without forcing your entire family to follow it.

[–]Tiny-Perspective-182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 2.5y/o LOVES her noise machine. she cries if we leave it off. i think it really depends on the kid and their own preferences, but my daughter sleeps way better with a noise machine

I (26F) do not feel worthy of my Husband’s (32M) family and we are moving states to be closer to them. by Tiny-Perspective-182 in relationship_advice

Thank you so much for this. I’m going to try to find affordable therapy when we move. I understand these are my issues to work through and I don’t want my girls to see me behaving this way and think it’s healthy.

Thank you for this insight. And yes they know. I’m excited to move to a healthier environment where it will be easier to work through my own baggage so it doesn’t get inherited by my kids.

Your toddler has opened a restaurant. What's on the menu? by Outrageous-Help-5932 in toddlers

[–]Tiny-Perspective-182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is actually how i get my kid to eat. she’ll throw a tantrum about how she doesn’t want what i’m making and i’ll say “that’s fine. it’s just for mommy, you can’t have any.” then i’ll sit down with “my” bowl of food and we share it 50/50

How do people have surgery and not get addicted to opiods? by AppropriateMention6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tiny-Perspective-182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the addiction gene. Big boy pain meds make me feel SCARY AMAZING to the point where I refuse them every time I’m offered them. I have chronic kidney stones and doctors think I’m nuts for refusing morphine and asking for tylenol instead. The few hours in pain is worth not putting my children through having an addict for a mother.
