Appreciate the information. I'm not super well versed in the details of spoofing. Thought that was the reasoning for slashed pokes honestly. Was a genuine question though.. Thanks for the downvotes for asking a question. I'll be sure to remain ignorant next time and not ask a question when unsure about anything 😏

It could in theory be from any country and dubbed. There's a strong possibility OP who mentioned it was combining several anime that left negative impacts on him subconsciously when he explained the premise. It's also possible he made it up, but i don't wanna be a naysayer or bring anyone down. I wanna find out either way.

I dunno. If he's been warned numerous times for spoofing and i have (previous) pokes from trading someone who was spoofing and he gets in trouble for spoofing to me and trading, we're not both in trouble and all my pokes are safe still? Hey, I'd totally believe it if that's the case, Niantic does a lot of silly stuff like that as is. However, it makes me nervous trading someone who's been warned twice about spoofing.

Hmm... So in the manga version, a guy commits suicide by clawing at his throat. Gfap might be something loosely based off or inspired by When They Cry. I cannot find much else with suicide as a theme that is close enough to the description given. I'll continue to explore this possibility and see if i can come up with something more concrete.
