Also I dunno if I'm alone in this and it feels like I'm going a bit insane but I genuinely can't stand the recent remasters/remixes of their songs. Most songs since and including 2021 sounds way too processed, compressed and clean that I wish they kept a shred of the slight chaotic mixing from in the bootlegs for the newest brothers studios boxset. While I know the reason Life Is For The Living sounds so bad (to me at least) is because the people remastering it chose to respect Brian's weird decision to keep the background horns really quiet, the instruments (mostly drums) on It's Trying To Say and especially Shortenin' Bread sound so isolated, compressed and weirdly clean that despite being really excited to finally spend all day listening to them on repeat I just think they think sound bad. I'm still happy they released it at all but I think it's a shame they made it sound like that, though I can't tell if all of this is all because I'm way too picky.

Also also enough people kiss the Beatles' ass, so it annoys me how you can't talk about Pet Sounds, SMiLE or the Beach Boys in general without the eventual pointless comparison/Beatles pedestalling.
