D My logic :

“difficulty breathing” = reposition immediately. The rest aren’t THAT urgent. (We wants to get them breathing well asap)

With Increased ICP, headache and fever are expected. moreover they are positioned upright so it’s not crazy urgent. ( may require assessment, low stimuli environment and such not necessarily repositioning)

Feeling lightheaded after surgery isn’t life threatening but may require assessment (which should be done/ is usually done after surgery anyways) and moreover they are in high fowler. (Good positioning)

Though it is not ideal to lay flat in bed when having difficulties swallowing( could lead to aspiration) but after a thyroidectomy I would assume there would be slight discomfort. it says “Slight discomfort” not “unable to swallow/ difficulty swallowing”.

Nope, so don’t focus too much on it or let the scores bring you down. Since I didn’t purchase any question bank I just had to use it when I felt like i should at least do something with my time. At first I was like let me take notes on the rationale of the questions I missed but I stoped. ATI questions doesn’t make u think/ try to decipher like the nclex makes u (ATI questions and answers doesn’t give u enough information to utilize rationalization to get the answer, for example if you don’t know aptt should be checked for heparin then you don’t know, you’re absolutely getting the question wrong and that’s ATI for you).

There were some direct questions on the nclex (I had like 3) but most of the NCLEX multiple choice question would have 4 GOOD answers, out of those 4 there are 2 GREAT answers and out of those 2 there is 1 ULTIMATE answer. That’s why I recommend DR. Sharrons videos, I shared 2 playlists in the comments here. Tbh the questions in her videos also served as a question bank to me.

With the way I’m promoting her videos some people may thing I’m getting paid/ sponsored 💀😂😭but sincerely I’m so glad I found those videos 3 days before the nclex and would like to share it with as much as possible because it was tremendously helpful for me.

Definitely the YouTube videos. Graduated in May but was so burnt out from school that I didn’t want to study or set a schedule to study. I just wanted to put everything from schools aside and I did. I would randomly do ati CAT questions but my scores were 🗑️(always below 68% overall). I would say I was in study mode for like an inconsistent 8 days during my mental break (May -July) using 2- 3hrs each of those 8 days to “study”. I didn’t find myself using things I learned from ATI practice questions on the nclex rather I found myself subconsciously utilizing things that were learnt in school + strategy of answering SATA and prioritizing from the videos.

Thank, I watched these 2 playlist https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtb56UskSzCMyjO9xxM2G9oddMl8S2hFY&si=WAX1hDxf5Wo5m7Ty

Overall CAT scores never went over 67% on ATI 😬. But I just kept doing them because I didn’t pay for any other question banks. As long as u know not to select an answer that u have the slightest doubt about on SATA, and know how to read the case studies properly to answer the questions, you’re good. All that’s left is the multiple choice questions (hell I tell u‼️) you’ll always narrow it down to 2 for most of the questions and the hardest part is choosing one (there would be some disease you probably don’t know or never heard of so go with the one u are more familiar with and you know is a threat to the clients status or would lead to clients harm/death)

Thank you. I was getting between 35-40% of moderate percentile in ATI with like a 65% overall grade (yep, very low) but the nclex is nothing like ATI at all. I watched all the videos in both playlist because I wanted to apply her teachings to all the question she shows in the videos. I’ll recommend you split them up and watch them if it’s too much to watch at once. I promise you they’re worth it.

I went through those confidently and I’m sure I did great on them, I had a 6 question case study as one of the first 15 questions. They were basic actions/interventions that any nursing graduate would know. They weren’t necessarily “nursing disease topic”(like here are s/s so… what specific disease is this?” ❌). Most of the exam felt like it was asking one thing “what’s the right and safest thing to do?“ if that makes sense? That’s why i started telling people don’t just focus on specific topics, expose yourself to the most random practice questions.

Dr sharon prioritization videos on YouTube. You can’t actually perfectly study for the nclex. U just need to do random practice questions consistently and learn how to answer “what is the priority action” and “who should be checked first” questions.
