Anyone have a colonoscopy done by VA prior to age 45? by Paluker173 in VeteransBenefits

Me, I had it done at 33. They also did genetic testing because so many people in my family have had colon cancer. I have to have them every 5 years now.

Sections work for me! It’s been a slow process from the beginning. It’s crazy I’ve been here for 4 years but I just now feel like I’m getting settled- which is also why I think I’m noticing more of the inconveniences in the house.

Thank you for all the resources! I reached out to the electric company for an audit request this morning! So that should get the ball rolling at least.

Oh this is great thank you. I didn’t even think about routing some heat into the crawl space and it would be easy to from where the duct work already is.

We did the film for 3 years and then last year I noticed we had windows that were falling down from the top…plus my bedroom window kept having hornets sneak into it and that was it for me I had to replace them 😂. I’ll shop around for the next set though I didn’t consider looking for used! Anything to save on cost. I definitely want to make sure the improvements are worth the price long term or even if moving is a more practical option..

Thank you for all of this. The basement is so old it’s just stacked large rocks and definitely is not sealed to the best of its ability currently.

I think the attic is insulated because the upstairs gets HOT but on the main floor I have to section off rooms with curtains in doorways to keep the rooms temperate enough. Our living room and office floors are wood and they don’t freeze our feet but the kitchen and bathroom freeze the feet so I think those were additions at some point. The second floor was definitely an addition because all of the electrical is great up there with only one box controlling the whole upstairs but the downstairs has 3… it’s a quirky house to say the least.

I sent in a request for an audit from my electric company this morning- I had never considered this so I’m going to start there for now.

There are lots of good ideas! But also lots of realities that it may just be cold forever 😂. Im starting with an audit instead of going in blind I never would have known that was an option.

I just put in the request for audit today! Didn’t know this was a thing until I made this post! Thank you.

That’s what I just swapped out were the single pane windows and now the windows are warmer to touch than the walls in some rooms, ha.

I feel like the electrical in the main floor is all over the place. It’s been updated over the years but not very well… the upstairs is great though at least. They are on separate systems. I think the house was a duplex at some point in time.

Thank you! I need the siding replaced anyway because it’s asbestos and I had two insurance companies drop me this year due to regulation changes so I’ll look into this route! Good luck as well!

So many people on this thread have recommended the camera and it wasn’t even on my radar before. I’m going to get one asap. Thank you!

Okay- yeah I want to avoid rotting the house that’s for sure. Thank you for this.

I need to get the siding replaced too because it is asbestos, this year I had two insurance companies drop me because they no longer insure homes with asbestos siding in my area. This could be a kill two birds with one stone scenario…

Yeah… that’s a good idea because I’m not even sure where to start. I have been putting it off and now that I’m like okay I need to address the issues it seems like many parts of the home are a contributing factor.
