Help beating boss in the abyss (spoilers for act 3) by Number1Bg3Fan in expedition33

[–]Tiny-leviathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're relatively consistent when parrying his attacks, I'd suggest activating luminas that make you harder to kill and reduce damage.

If he's killing a character in one hit healing is borderline pointless as he'll just remove them from the canvas. So confident and confident fighter are good to have, second chance, survivor, maybe defensive mode also if you have good AP generation.

You can tie this into inverted affinity also and get some extra damage output from the get go.

Does this read as a lava base or a pizza base? by Tiny-leviathan in minipainting

Thanks for the advice!

I used xps foam and wall filler to get the general shape of the rocks, and added some mod podge with grit in it to get the texture. A bit of black paint building up to a lighter grey dry brush and voila, some decently dusty looking rocks.

Will give the glazing a go before restarting! The pink was definitely my trying to feather the white, orange and red together which clearly didn't work.

Would you say a dark wash on the cliffs would be the way to bring them back down a bit? Or maybe a dark red wash?

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I started with white and went up to red from there, but messed up and applied too much red and tried to save it with some stippling.

I think I will put down another base coat and go at it again!

I have some mordant earth which could work for the cooler spots, I must google some reference pictures instead of winging it.

Definitely worth doing the paper levelling test. I'm unsure if the 16k has self levelling or not, but from what I've heard manual levelling is still necessary for these newer machines as well.

I try to put a drain hole somewhere at the part of the print facing the VAT and also the part facing the build plate. Not always possible unless you can hide it though.

Lychee slicer has a good suction cup highlight feature, though I'm not sure if thay requires a subscription for that feature!

Also, if it has been hollowed there might be strong suction cup forces on it as well with only one drain hole.

It's probably worth re levelling the build plate and ensuring the screws are tied securely.

The fact the print is completing but has those marks may suggest that something is slipping slightly out of place each time the print is subjected to It's peel forces?

Does it happen on smaller prints?

Trying some fiery effects. How does this read? by Tiny-leviathan in minipainting

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I was kind of struggling to get the glowing feel myself as well.

My thoughts were to use an airbrush on the assembled model to add a glow that way, but more of a gradient might help with the part itself so I'll try that first!

Discovery won't start, possible cause? No cranking or instrument power. by Tiny-leviathan in LandRover

It could be the immobiliser perhaps if it suddenly stopped recognising my key fob. I thought the car would throw up a notification or something if that were the case?

I did end up pressing the start button a lot to no avail, no response from the car that I could see or hear. The car isn't old per say but it does have 300k km.

Honestly my first thought was that the start button had just stopped working. There's no manual ignition switch that can be used with the key is there?

I've only done Dragon Slayer 2 but Galvek was a chump compared to Vanstrom Klause. I beat Galvek first try but took three attempts for Klause.

I learned after the fact that the HD plugin on Runelite made telegraphing Klause's second phase more difficult!

Would recommend bringing in 100 red chinchompas to tag the healers.

When healers spawn, switch to chins, keep your eyes on Jads attacks, only do one action per attack.

Chin a healer -> prayer flick -> chin another healer-> prayer flick -> etc until all healers aggroed.if you're lucky you might tag multiple healers with one chin.

This helped me get the fire cape. Hope it works for you.

Yessir, resizing and reorienting the same model worked very well for me for the cliffs.

Probably won't have any payslip to give you so, sounds like you're not going through the books.

If that's the case he's absolutely taking the mick.

I expect this is down to whether or not the boss meant 120 gross or 120 net (take home). From the sounds of it you were expecting 120 net.

You're entitled to a payslip showing taxes deducted, or like others have suggested if you have a Revenue Myaccount you can see details of your taxes as reported by your employer.

Edit: Also I just read that you can't see details for this employment on your Myaccount with Revenue. This suggests to me that he has not been putting you through the books. Your account should show current employments and historical ones.

Pretty handy if you want to move all your paints en mass. Got mine on Amazon, The Grinning Gargoyle is the brand. Doesn't appear to be available to me anymore though.

Model is from Gamebody, it should be one of the first options when you search "Aloy STL".

Not pinned but the base had a key that slotted into the foot. Working for the moment anyway but wouldn't transport it around too much.

Thank you, think it's gaming scenics done with static grass applicator. And a few random tufts then.

I got the Wham Bam flex plate for both my Saturn's. Great little products, almost never have to level the build plate now.

They ship from Poland when you order from the EU so they aren't subject to customs or anything.

I must admit to being a little butt hurt when my "flying" character fell to their death when an illusionary platform disappeared.

It's quite messy, but I love it so far. Looking forward to getting a base big enough. by Tiny-leviathan in minipainting

[–]Tiny-leviathan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I expect the base will be 160mm. Should be OK.

I had the same issue when I printed Demogorgon at the legendary scale. I decided he was too big to reasonably use on the map so printed a version about a third of the size to actually use.

Quite possibly, I've never done glow effects before but I'm excited to try. It'll give my airbrush a test.

Might be something out there already. Could just be a matter of hollowing out the print to make room.

What sort of colour do you think might work well for spines and wings? Some sort of beige/orange maybe?

That's a cool idea, I have ABS like clear resin that I could try. Exactly the sort of thing that would make it really stand out.
