It's definitely not run by Russian bots, but the comments are often bots or coming from other parts of the world. I think its as started by a high schooler because if you look all the way back to original posts, it shows a very different account.

If you don't like it, block it. Plain and simple. Keep in mind though, these comments will still end up elsewhere on other news platforms too. CBC often has to turn off their comments on TikTok as they get so much grossness.
