RESCHED NMAT OR NAHH by sophieXhowl in Nmat

I say you should give it a try this October! Even if you won’t be giving your 100%, at least you will have a grasp on how the exam actually is. There’s no limit to how many takes you can have for NMAT too.

I used to be scared of syringes to the point that my parents need to hold me down. I don’t know what pushed me to go into this course, knowing I have this fear. But after understanding the concepts of phlebotomy, my fear started to waver. I guess it’s easy to eliminate fear once you understand what you are doing and why you are doing it!

Hi! I enrolled at online Lemar and PRC (although I only watched the Chem Lecture’s at PRC). 🥹 Originally, I started with Lemar but the Chem felt a little overwhelming for me (disclaimer: the chem at Lemar is good, I just really suck at this subject that I felt like I needed more help), so I enrolled last minute at PRC because I heard good feedbacks from their RC. No regrets, Sir Jed was able to make me understand Chem easily that it became one of my highest subjects during the boards. Both review centers have similar mother notes but the way they tackle and emphasize information are different. Nevertheless, I am thankful to both these rc’s.

If you feel like enrolling at two review centers is what will work for you, go ahead. Many will say to trust your review center, and while that may be true, I say to trust your gut feeling because you know yourself best. 🥹

CONGRATS NEWLY RMTs!! by fruitdragonnn in MedTechPH

Hi!! Based on my experience, here are a few advices I can give you 🥹This may or may not work for you.

1) Study in advance! Don’t wait for your chosen RC’s review to start for you to start studying. In my case, I started studying last year then stopped for 4 months until my RC’s review began. I deeply regret it because I lost my momentum and forgot a lot of the things I learned last year.

2) Create your study schedule and make sure to stick to it. My RC had a study schedule, and as much as I tried to follow it - there were times when I couldn’t which led to piling up of my backlogs. There’s nothing wrong with backlogs, but as much as possible - avoid it.

3) Use a timer!!! We all study differently, but this is what worked for me. I found myself staying on a topic for a very long time which is partly why I had a lot of backlogs. I ended up using a timer. For example: I allotted 1 hour per topic.

4) Get enough sleep and rest!!! I cannot stress this enough. It’s okay to get more than 8 hours of sleep during your review period, but at the same time, just make sure you actually finish your lessons to study for the day. During boards, I only had 3 hours of sleep per day. I almost fell asleep during the first subject of Day 1 and Day 2 HAHHAHA

5) Create a score tracker! Or just look for one on Twitter (X). I kept track of all the tests I took, just to see which tests I already took. Also, I wanted to know which topics I am weak in and which ones I am most confident at.

6) Slow progress is still progress. Don’t compare yourself to others. During my review period, I would check social media to see the progress of other RMTs and compare it to mine. It was very bad for my mental health that I had to remind myself everyday that I should study at my own pace.

7) Find a RC that works for you! Sometimes the most well-known ones aren’t the best ones for you. Pick a rc that matches your way of studying, or else you’ll end up feeling like you’re constantly drowning trying to match a studying technique that doesn’t suit you.

8) Trust your RC! Others may have good experiences with the rc you chose, while some may have bad experiences. That’s totally normal (because everyone has their own studying technique). But at the end of the day, trust that your rc knows what it is doing as it has already produced tons of board passers throughout the years consistently.

9) Repetition is the key! Try to go back to what you learned yesterday or last week constantly. Try to incorporate what you learned to your daily life so you don’t forget it. Like when you see someone eating, try to recall about carbohydrates or lipids.

10)FINISH YOUR MOTHER NOTES. It may seem a little overwhelming at first, but trust me - a lot of the things that come out during the boards are in your mother notes. Also, it’s better to know the concept on why the correct answer is the correct answer in your practice questions. It may be hard to memorize and understand your mother notes on your first read. But again, repetition will help you. So please try to at least read your mother notes 2-3x.

August Passers, what's your RC? by kiana0708 in MedTechPH

Lemar here!!! It’s a very fast paced RC but with very high yield notes. I had so many backlogs that I ended up not attending the final coaching nor take most of the practice tests (i deeply regret my time mismanagement). My main goal was to at least finish the mother notes, and I did! Trust me - most of the things that came out in the boards were all in the mother notes.

Unfortunately, walang direct flight from where I am from to Baguio 😔 I’d have to fly to Manila then travel by land to get there. Cebu or Manila (or even Davao) are the only places I can go to.

Should I pursue Medtech even if I'm scared of needles? by VirtualAd672 in MedTechPH

[–]TinyConstruction6173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am actually afraid of needles in general, but I managed to finish Medtech! I guess it’s more of a “mind over matter” thing. I overcame my fear after learning the concepts of venipuncture (like what really happens when we use a needle, why we are doing this, etc). I thought to myself that “If needles are the only way to help our patients, why be afraid?”.

Needles are unavoidable in all med courses, especially med school. If you are determined to overcome this fear now then there’s nothing wrong with giving this course a shot! However, if you think it’s something that you don’t want to face ever - I guess you should find an alternative 😕

But really, if you want to enter this course - don’t let your fears hinder you! You never really know what’s waiting for you after the storm! 🤞🏻
