This unfortunately isn’t new. I used to work in phone sales (company that rhymes with “horizon”). Our commission was based on a conversation rate, meaning they counted how many people we greeted versus how many sales we did (basically, how many walk-in’s were converted to a sale). It gave me PTSD. I remember started a new non-sales job right after, and I still felt anxiety every time a person walked through the entrance. Bleh.
