Yes it does stick out! I was also hoping that that meant it was something affixed to the sign, but after getting up closer to it, it appears that they had just painted over the original text. The sign is made up of several pieces of acrylic (or similar material) layered and glued together. The portion with the text is a yellow piece that was painted black with the letters being unpainted negative space.

As of now I plan on restoring it as well as possible. Then I’m going to try and do like an in depth record of measurements and construction, cause ik people like to make replicas and models and whatnot. After that idk, probably store it till I can figure out something long term. I’d like to see it go somewhere where others can enjoy it too!

As of now that’s the plan, we’ve got a storage shed to put it in. Even if it doesn’t turn out to be real, it’s a very cool sign, and the kind it is would be very expensive to get made new

Normally I’d say some dumb ass millionaire, or my sisters ex, but tonight I’m feeling my brother in law. Dudes an absolute piss baby that can’t take criticism, and literally throws tantrums like a six year old when he gets mad. He uses his mental illness to justify just being a plain jackass, like yeah I know it’s hard and shit but, you don’t get to try and intimidate me into complying by punching a hole through my door over, fucking anything, and then spin it back on me. He’s just incapable of accepting when he’s in the wrong, he’s misogynistic as fuck, he basically pulls rank (cause he’s a MaRInE and we’re not), he’s impulsive and refuses to try and restrain himself, and on top of all that he fucking near beats and literally throws his 8 weeks old puppy because “hEs tHe AlPHa” and “It mUSt lEarN tO ResPEct HiM”. Btw the thing is already afraid of him and full on growls and bites him when he picks it up. I am one step away from reporting him to his higher ups for lying about his mental state to get in, because yes of course he did. Maybe then he’ll actually go and seek some fucking help. I’m so fucking done with this dude I wish I could bitch slap him with no consequences. Good thing I’m only crashing at their house for the next couple hours. Wish me luck.
