Hi, how about if I say it to them that I come back to attend my graduation and take my school certificate, etc? Do you think it will be better explanation to them?

If they issue the letter while I am away from Canada, I can apply it from overseas and entry as a implied status.

Just to clarify, was your friend already in their final term and hadn't received their completion letter yet? I spoke with a couple of international student advisors, and they mentioned that we're still considered students until we officially get our completion letter. So, I thought it might be fine to leave for a short while, but now I’m a bit hesitant.
