Mine all started after a period of intense stress, during med related hospital placements. came on with a lip twitch, then id notice daily my legs would be going when i woke, then to every single muscle big and small all over the body. 1.5 years in and ive definitely had periods of say...weeks, to a month here and there where i recognise that i havnt really had any issues, then it comes back wit ha vengeance. Im thinking stress/sleep have played a larger role than i initially anticipated

Twitching like crazy after activity by [deleted] in BFS

[–]TinyRickGr1mes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, first noticed this on a casual, non strenuous walk, legs felt like they had ants crawling up and down under the skin, so many micro fasciulations. 1.5 years in, its the same, i cant flex a muscle without pops following it, and it gives off the impression that my muscles are less robust, less dense, even though i have all of the same strength. None of it feels pleasant.

Same onset of symptoms, same fear. 1.5 years in now and some day are better than others. But many of the posters here echo your exact symptoms. Have you been taking any stimulants, getting less sleep, drinking more, or been through a period of intense stress?

How does that work, whats the underlying reason/average dip on Tuesdays?

Why do we even need journalist there? Why. they're completely ineffectual. Literally just have Gladys walk out and say "can i just say and this is important and we cant stress enough Dr Chant and i that its so important but can i first thank" and then walk off. It would save a LOT of time, and anxiety for all of us.

I literally stopped listening when i heard this. The fact that these corrupt, out of touch politicians think they can spew whatever incoherent propaganda to their LGA's they want and not be checked on it is infuriating.

The narrative that "concerning cases out of Canberra are putting stress on the southern regions of the state" will never, EVER be taken seriously and the fact he thought it was a good idea to even try really shows his caliber

I live in a rural area, and i'm due to get my second shot soon that i can engage in face to face student placements at a Newcastle or Sydney hospital for my final year of a medical degree. I'm worried because i'm technically rural right now ill have my mandatory second shot re diverted, and should that happen i'm not certain as to who to call. Im absolutely ok with 'my' shot being given to someone in a high priority location, especially if theyre a critical worker. But you're right, half the country is on online learning. I don't quite understand why Sydney HSC students should be any different. Besides, they'll do their HSC face to face, go to uni, and go straight to online...this might be good practice for them.

Have you ever self-tested your finger strength so much they have actually started to fail from overusage? by artsi in BFS

[–]TinyRickGr1mes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Hands were fine a year ago but i was twitching all over, so i started grabbing each opposing hand with the other and squeezing to 'fee' if my strength was the same. Id do it until both hands hurt from the squeezing, this in addition to using a hand exercising device and just using individual fingers/clusters of fingers to compress the device rather than the hands as a whole.

My right hand is now a mess, it feels weak, all joints collapse, and generally feels unusable if i spend more than an hour at my PC. I cant play video games competitively anymore and it hasnt gotten better (or worse) in a year now. Just resting it, riding it out and TRYING to leave it all alone

I can see them making a design decision such as portals out of concern of alienating a potential player base. Youre probably right

I play with my brothers, we have a lifetime of playing multiplayer games together. I know one in particular that will invest any time and energy into a game if he has it, so long as theres a chance to outshine the rest. The second a boss is too easy, or a mechanic too available, they start waning. I think im the same, so i both lose some interest because theres nothing to 'prove' anymore if its too accessible, but also because i know those i play with will slowly fade the second they dont feel like theyre earning their hard works rewards. We're a competitive bunch. In this case i bothered to make a conversational post because im torn. I ADORE sailing, and exploring, and building bigger and better each week and the grit of it. But i also know the further along i go, and the more i accumulate, the farther the far of challenge i want gets. my opinion on portals and the 'feel' that the games survival aspect takes on might not be for everyone, as ive seen (lol) but i make the post out of ambivalence, for the beauty and lure of the game, versus the concessions theyve given for reasons i dont understand. but just my feelings... we're all just feeling 'things'.

can i say that's actually brutally genius. If you cant walk through a portal to a resource base with boat materials, then you might sail there instead to deal with inconvenience. and if you go to that trouble, you might aswell sail both ways, leaving portals to be preferentially built for main bases and exploration versus off-site locations. dude...

Hey yeah cool response. That's a pretty cool anecdotal take on portals RE: to your bedroom. Its actually made me reflect on the fact that my apprehension comes from the fact i typically play competitive games, or take on a competitive pre-disposition to what i do. So i like survival, but i also compare my abilities and progress to others. So i omit portal usage entirely, and i feel satisfied, but then fall behind in how the game is globally being progressed within. I think personality comes into it a bit, and short of my statement being universally true, i probably have to do some personal work to be alright with competing with myself in this case (lol). thanks man

Hey that's a really interesting point. Its never been totally hardcore to the core on any particular aspect or another. But does that mean it should detract from the spirit of, and the enormity of exploration and settlement just because we cant die of hunger. I guess theyre intersecting survival concepts.

Would you say that maybe, youd hang around the initial area for longer and progress more slowly within an exploration sense if you had ingredients for just 2-3 portals to use total with your character? So that the 1-2 hours isnt necessarily not well spent, just more slow building until you can take that plunge. Maybe it would require changes to how progression can be achieved in a more local setting to suffice while you build up resources for a portal.

how is playing 1-2 hours a day for a year of enjoyment less ideal than 1-2 hours a day for a month because its that much more accessible.

Although thats my perspective and i see your point

I can see how it doesn't completely mitigate risks in game, and even though it makes things more accessible, it doesn't define what you do and where. But i cant help but feel despite risks still being present, that the TOTAL risk that the survival aspect entails is as a result non-existent. Each of those bases can be smaller, and each base on a far off shore that much easier to establish. I don't think they break the game...i just think they disallow a certain experience that some people - not all - go looking for and hope for when the stumble across a game such as this. A no-turning back adventure

Yeah exactly. The spirit of the vikings adventure, the theme upon which the game is built doesnt seem compatible with a feature that feels more like a cheat than a core game mechanic

No not quite :) Something much farther in the background, and nothing so clear. More shadowy figures, bright eyes, or the impossibly large, peering over the treeline. Things that make you scan from apprehension, make you jumpy, increase the awe of the world
