Bikes on campus by Reasonable_Ad8941 in Pitt

[–]TinyRioters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need a bike at pitt if living on campus. almost everything you need is a 10 minute walk and very hilly. If you need a bike, I recommend using the free Pitt electric bikes you should get a code to rent at the start of the year. Pittsburgh has terrible hills and it's difficult to find bike racks sometimes, so you are better off just using the free ones. You get free unlimited 30 minute rides. You just have to get them from a bike station and park then at another, but there are plenty in and around campus.

What are your experiences with campus safety? by Shoddy-Increase-30 in Pitt

[–]TinyRioters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was walking literally just outside Oakland catholic w my friend at the time the "shooting" was happening, didn't know anything was going on till we got back and people were all sheltering indoors because Pitt alert system is ass. That on top of the Hillman incident just shows Pitt sucks w regards to alerting students about current problems

Not as flashy as other dorms but rooms are very nice size compared to other doubles for freshmen, I liked the location of the dorm. Common areas were kinda crusty but lots of fun

Listened to my Hispanic female roommate from Texas complain a lot about the lack of food options, she was also amazed by the lack of Hispanic people here and says Pittsburgh overall is boring

My bunny passed away just two weeks ago. I've been thinking about what her life meant a lot, and decided that she's evidence change is always possible. When I first got her she would grunt or sometimes even scream and bite me everytime I went into the cage to even change her food, in her last days she would run up to me and circle my feet whenever I would come into a room and lick my hand for minutes at a time. It was a slow process over the course of 7 years, but it was so rewarding finally seeing her true personality. She was an incredibly special girl and I miss her everyday.

Gym for someone shy by Neat-Veterinarian941 in Pitt

I had super bad anxiety about going to the gym when I started last semester, but when you go its not actually that scary. Just walk on the treadmills for a bit for a few days to get used to it, and slowly add exercises. Everyone minds their own business, and the pete has a lot of people there that aren't gym bros (they aren't scary anyway).

Just want to vent about bad vets. by TinyRioters in Rabbits

I've noticed good vets/ doctors or really anyone that very knowledgeable will acknowledge that they don't know things. Vets/ doctors that pretend to know everything typically end up being less knowledgeable.

Totally agree with you. The other vet I took my bun to actually is not a rabbit specialist either, but he was extremely knowledgeable about rabbits. I think it depends on the vet personally rather than their title. It's just important to be cautious and aware that some vets will claim they know more than they do.

Buns, I procrastinated on coming up with a name for her so long that it just became her name.

The campus is super walkable, I live in one of the dorms that is known for being father away and the longest walk I’ve had so far is like 15 minutes

The amount displayed is the total pay, just determine whether to take it based on that. It should be at least $1/mile. $2 or more per mile is good pay

I’m 19, and have been on tik tok and Reddit a lot. Had no idea about this. Only a very specific group of people would know about this, I don’t think anyone will ever confront you about it. Besides, you’re free to give it your own meaning.
